Money Sent

I just made two calls to my family in the Philippines. One last night to my father lasted for one hour and one this morning to my mother. It would have been cheaper if I was able to talk both of them last night but my mother wasn't home when I called so had to make another call when I woke up.

I called them to let them know I just sent them some money for the whole month of October. I was not gonna do it because I spent a freaking $420 to the USCIS for my sister's immigration application and I already told my mother, I am not sending them money for two months. I have to save some more for the upcoming immigration bills, you know?

But I sent anyway and they are happy especially my mother for she now has money to use to pay the bills and other stuff. If it wasn't because of my sister rushing me to give her budget to buy herself a girl scout uniform, I would have not done that. Anyway, I feel good after hearing they are doing okay and helping them in a way I can.

Been In The Freezer For Too Long!

I've had this danggit fish in our freezer for two months. I didn't know I had them until yesterday. I thought they were a different kind but when I cooked them this morning, I found out they were actually danggit. Not bad, because I love danggit very much. What disappoints me is that knowing that they've been in our freezer for too long they are no longer good to eat.

When it was cooking the smell of the fish was just awful (good thing it was beautiful outside, cooler temperature so I got to open windows and front door) to let the smell out. No matter how much spices and garlic I put in the fish still the smell was there and ewwww we ate it anyway. I still got some more in the pot left for me to eat in the next meals. No choice but to finish them, I hate throwing away foods that's why.

Pure White Palladium Rings

I have seen a lot of people recently with palladium wedding bands. I really like that they are pure. In fact they are almost 100 percent but 95 percent pure. I had a white gold ring that I wore for a number of years. It has really faded from white to a not so attractive yellow color. I am so tempted to go out and replace the white gold ring with a palladium ring. It would look much better in my opinion.

One thing I really like about them is they aren't as soft as silver. Silver looks real good but the metal of it just bends too easily for my liking. My dad hit his silver ring on something hard and it has never been the same. It hasn't been a complete circle since. Ever since these wedding bands palladium have come out I have wanted one. Especially after I did some research on palladium it feels like it would be right for me.

Loves Science Fiction

My husband and I get along very well although we are two completely different individuals. He is 17 years my senior, he's an American and I'm a Filipina yet our marriage is doing great which is awesome. We also have different interests. He loves science fiction, I love the reality. He loves reading science fiction books and I don't for I prefer reading stories based in real happenings. Yes, that's how different we are!

Rambutan Fruit

I was very surprised when I saw this rambutan fruit at the Asian market where we usually buy my stuff like fish, squid etc. It is my first time to see such a fruit like that being sold here in America. Of course I couldn't pass by it. I've been wanting to taste this fruit again for so long, I did buy a package of it that cost us $4.99. Yes, that is kind of too much but what can I do? I just want to eat this fruit.

Rambutan is grown in Southern part of the Philippines. There are many rambutan trees at my grandmother's farm in Davao that every time we go visit there when we were kids, we could eat as much as we wanted to eat until we get sick in the stomach. Rambutan, I should say was one of my favorite fruits and one of the many things I look forward of eating when my father would bring us to his hometown.

Slim

How cute and slim are these Ordinateurs de bureau desktops I saw online today. So convenient to move it anywhere in the house or when moving. It doesn't take much space on the desk as well. Good timing we have planned of buying our first born a fast and new computer and then I found these slim french desktop computers. Jadyn has got small desk in her bedroom so as much as possible, we would get her something that is almost miniature in size.

owen t. kinney, YOU SUCK!

For 14 months and 3 days we are waiting for some miracle to happen about something that could literally help our family financially. Patience tested and we felt like we can no longer hold it. owen kinney who handles the Will seem so incompetent and slow. He call himself an experienced "lawyer" yet he couldn't be clear as to when this going to end. Sometime in August he made us believe that the check is going to be issued anytime soon yet another days and weeks have gone by and nothing happened.

There would always be an excuse leading to another ridiculous excuses every time we ask how the will is progressing. We are getting tired of this old man, honestly. He seems like he doesn't care at all, oh well we are not his clients so why should he care anyway? His excuse is that the Trustee is out of town and that we should wait for his return... of course there is nothing we can do about it so we'll wait and let two weeks pass by without hearing anything from owen or his assistant courtney. If we wouldn't ask how's it going they wouldn't return to us or give us an update or anything. Sucks! We are like waiting forever hanging in the dark. Couple times he did it to us... days turned into weeks and weeks into months.

My Idol Equestrian

When I was growing up I have always admired someone who looked pretty and a very good actress in the Philippines. Her name is Mikee Cojuanco. She often appeared on television almost everyday as she was popular back then. Whenever she's on t.v I felt excited and just glad seeing her smiling face with cute little dimple in her cheek. There was even a show that featured her riding a horse in a competition with her equestrian apparel on, at that moment I knew she was an equestrian which most people didn't know. Mikee was one of the most admired actresses because of how good actress she was and she was really a nice person.

Waking Up To The Smell Of Coffee

One morning I woke up to the aromatic smell of coffee being brewed in our very own kitchen. I knew exactly who did it, my husband. He is the coffee drinker of this house. And no matter how I like to taste the coffee I just couldn't do it. I know what will happen to me if I force myself to drink or take a few sips of it, I would stay up all night for two nights. Yes, it is like a drug that is so strong that keeps my senses awake for two freaking nights. I would say coffee is not just for me. Another thing why I can't drink coffee is that it's bitterness, I just don't like its taste unless of course I put plenty of sugar in it which can be bad for me. So better not do anything stupid than have myself suffer if I get myself tempted to drink coffee.

Since the husband loves drinking coffee every morning, I would love to buy him Lavazza Coffee Beans so he can try to differentiate it than what he usually buys at the store. Why I Love Wearing Dress

I bought this purple multi dress online at Macy's during their Labor Day Sale last weekend for $11.69 (now back up to 17.99 still on sale price orig was $36. ). I don't regret I bought it for it fits perfectly on me although the length is a little too long for me. I like the feel of material in my skin, so light and comfortable.

The reason why I love wearing dress is that when you put it on, you only have to do it once, aside from that you only wear one piece of clothing in your body which makes it so convenient and fast that you can quickly get out of the closet instead of choosing over jeans or pants plus you'll have to look for a top that would match in your pants that you're going to wear, time consuming and I hate that. Another reason is that, wearing a dress makes you look feminine!

Strange Looking Logitech Mouse

Thanks to my husband for buying me a new mouse. It is a computer accessory that I cannot live without. It's my third mouse since I started using laptop, two of the previous mice were cordless once and are both broken. For some reason mice won't last long in my hands. The third one has a cord to make sure my baby girl won't drop it and break it eventually. While Logitech is a great brand, I appreciate him for getting me one but... it is a strange looking trackball mouse that is hard to operate. I have used a trackball mouse from the past alright but it was the thumb that will move the ball that made it easier and comfortable to use...

And this one I have I have to use my pointer or tall finger in order to move the cursor and what makes it more strange is that the third button which is the scroll button is attached to the right click button. It will take a while before I get used to using this one for sure!

......truly it is a weird looking mouse that I can compare to that a face of a cockroach or a bug nyaaaahahaha...

Who would have thought a few years ago that I was going to be knee deep in boxes? Everyone in my life knew how much I loved my house and living in Chicago so the last thing anyone thought is that I would be moving but when this new job offer came along I just had to take it, even if it did mean leaving behind everything I’d loved before. I’m really starting to get used to it here and I actually kind of like being out of the city although there are some things I do miss. My new place has satellite star internet and a big bay window and it’s even got a view of the lake so I guess all in all it wasn’t a bad trade off for that cramped one bedroom I used to live in. I’m starting to feel at home although there will always be a special place in my heart for the Windy City and I go back to visit as often as I possibly can!

Bracelets That I Made

I didn't know making bracelets out of beads can be fun. Although I didn't have enough string to finish my project, I found it to be so fun. The finished products were given to my friends' daughters, to my big girl and some I saved for my box for my little sister in the Philippines.

I hope she likes her bracelets for they are made with love from me. They are so easy to make yet when you buy them in the mall or in any other stores, it would cost at least 5-10 dollars each. If you really want to save some money, you can just buy the beads at a hobby or craft store and make some according to your style.

There are things that my husband would tell me and I don't understand it. There are some things as well that I can easily understand. If I don't get it, I would try to seek for explanation just like the stuff he has in his garage. So many manly stuff that I don't even know the know. I remember one time, there was this thing in particular he was talking about that he is going to buy but I didn't know exactly what that was. I kept asking him what is it and when he showed me on the internet, I found out that what he needs is the same exact Delafield Corporation rubber hose I am looking at right now. Silly me.
