When we talk about life insurance, this brings me back to my childhood about the rumor spreading the town about Filipinas being killed by their foreign husbands because of life insurance. Back then I didn't really comprehend what that was all about as I was in my naive self although I already had a vision of marrying an American. She Was So Jealous

We visited a friend's house last weekend with Jadyn with me. In their house, they have a boy who is 9 years old who miraculously got along pretty well with my girl. They played ball and toy gun. His gun was actually an improvised water gun with scopes attached to it so the boy can look through it from a distance. My little girl saw that toy and she fell in love with it. I can tell she was very jealous of the boy's toy because it was painted in her face, when we went home she couldn't stop talking about the toy especially the scopes. I told her to tell her dada so he can buy her one like his playmate's.

Missing Sheriff

Miss you, Sheriff...in case you don't know that. Lately, it's been so quiet but I am waiting patiently as to when the good Sheriff gonna put his handcuffs in me again. Meanwhile, I will be happy how many or whatever tasks the Heaven's gonna shower me, I am in no control how many I should be doing each week. As long as they don't forget me, that is perfectly fine with me. One more thing, just want to let you all know that I've been religiously doing my job according to the best I can...

Puto Cheese

It's been a long time since I tried making puto cheese. The first attempt was a mess. I put too much water in the mixture so I never tried again until this afternoon.

So Tired I Am!

I didn't get to sleep full 8 hours last night. I kept waking up from time to time for I was so anxious for 7 a.m to come resulting to sleepless night. We had an early start today, we needed to get to this store nearby to take advantage of the 50% entire purchase they're having and we don't wanna be late. My friend and I agreed to be there at 9 in the morning but then to our surprise, a lot of people were already checking out when we got there (that means all the good stuff we could probably buy were almost gone). We were like WHAT?? and we burst out to laugh. We came home at past 11.

I was tired and very hungry. When we had our lunch I was gonna go take a nap but then the roofers called they are coming to meet with the adjuster (a guy from the insurance company to estimate and take a look at our roof). The roofers (a Filipino and Filipina) arrived on time, all we waited for was the adjuster who was very late of 2 f******ng hours. My friend who was with me at the store agreed that I go with her to other Filipina's house for laag, I couldn't go with her at 2 for these two roofers stuck around, they didn't leave instead waited for the adjuster to come. I couldn't take a nap either for they are in our house and who would want to sleep while strangers are in your home?

So now I am in a bad mood, tired sleepy eyes, exhausted body. I did try to lay down a bit pretending I was asleep but how I wish I could really sleep... darn people! I can take I wasn't able to hang out with friends today so long I had my nap but I hadn't had a single nap... grrrrrrrrrrrrr inatay lang!

Used To Be Wimpy Kid

I can't believe how much my "used to be wimpy classmate" in Freshman high school has changed physically. I have not seen him for ten years and when I was home just four months ago, we bumped into each other at the public market and I almost didn't recognize him just because he has changed a lot. Although the height is still the same (he's a short male) but he gained muscles over the years of being a gym instructor. He works there as a full-time instructor and apparently he has to maintain his good shape in order to earn his clients' respect. Pinoy Swift Hotdog

One of the many foods I missed eating is the Pinoy or Filipino hotdog. There is something to it that I love, it may taste weird for Americans because of some rice and preservatives added to it yet I find it tasty compared to their hotdogs here. I didn't know the Asian Market we usually go shop for my foods has Swift hotdogs. When I saw it in one of their freezers I hurriedly grab two packages because I know they won't last long. I am happy and it satisfied my craving for Pinoy hotdog. Eating it felt like I was in our own kitchen in the Philippines. Sadly though I didn't have my little siblings to share it with. Hohohoho I miss them already!

Ladies/Mommies Day Out

Baby girl and I are going out today with a few girlfriends to meet up my two other Filipina friends in the mall. These two ladies were pregnant when I last seen them and today is the chance I can see their cute little girls. They live an hour away from the rest of us here so I am excited because I can go out of the house, go chit chat with my friends and most of all we can get to spend our post Mother's Day celebration. Although not all girls have their babies but it will be interesting we all get together once in a while.

Annual Cruises are a Relaxing Time

Every year, my girlfriends and I go on a summer cruise for a special week of girls only bonding. We take turns picking a location each time and this year, it was my turn. I chose to take us to Mexico for a week of sun, fun and beaches!

Before I left, I spent an entire day packing. I tried on all kinds of outfits, trying to pick my favorites for all of the events on the ship. There were going to be formal nights as well as casual parties, so I had to be well prepared! After I finished, I went to bed early to rest up. The next morning, I got up and put together the last of my bags. I set my home security alarm (ADT PULSE COST) and was ready to go!

When we all arrived at the port we were departing from, we were so excited to run into some other friends that we hadn't seen in years who were going on the cruise with us. We knew it would be a great time! They took us all to our rooms and then we set sail. We've only been on the ship for a few hours, but it's already so peaceful to be on the ocean and away from the stresses of real life. Annual cruises are my favorite tradition of all time.

Filipino Dishes

These are the typical Filipino dishes that I cook at home. I don't need an extra special dish to live, I just want something that I love to eat and something that can fill my hungry stomach that could last for hours. And these kind of foods are definitely what I need. I can eat them forever without complaining for they are what I used to eat back home.
