Before I flew to the Philippines from Texas I planned of taking a picture or two of the hands of my family that shows 4 generations in total which came in to reality when we went to Davao. These pictures show the hand of four people each from the oldest to the youngest generation. These are of my grandmother Adi's hand who is 84 years old now, my father's 52 years old, my little sister, 10 years old and lastly Jadyn's (my grandmother's great grandkid) hand who is turning 3.
I can compare them to a tree that is almost a hundred years old. My grandmother is like their root, father as the trunk, Alexia the little sister to be the fruit and Jadyn is the bud or the flower. Cool, isn't it? How many of you guys have the chance to take a picture of your family before they were gone in this world? I guess this only happens rarely so I took advantage of the great opportunity while grandmother is still with us.

Beauty stocking stuffers
Guest post written by Carolyn Hayes
All of my siblings and I are coming to our parents' house for Christmas which I'm sure is going to be a little hectic and scary. But we're the only ones with a kid so it won't be as crazy as it would be if there were other grandchildren. But while I was out buying some stocking stuffers for our son, I got inspired to buy a few to put in everyone else's stockings.
Before my trip to buy stocking stuffers, I had gone online to get some ideas for what to get my son, husband and brother. While I was doing that I came across some direct tv internet bundle specials and after I looked through them, I signed us up for one of them.
I knew to get some beauty stocking stuffers for my sisters and I, so I picked up some nail polish colors and some Burt's Bees chapstick, which I swear by. I also got some good smelling aftershave for my husband and brother. If I had my way, IÕd give my brother a new haircut as a stocking stuff. But unfortunately, thatÕs impossible.

Bye Cebu, Hello Davao!
We are just waiting for the time to leave for Cagayan de Oro. We are leaving this afternoon at 5 to the pier where the Super Ferry is docked. This will takes us an overnight cruise to CDO then tomorrow morning we'll be riding in a painstaking 8 hours bus ride from CDO to Davao. All these I am willing to to go through just so I can be with my grandma, aunties/uncle and cousins once again. This is also for Jadyn so that she can meet the rest of her Filipino family before she goes back to the USA. Occasions like these seldom happen so I must savor each moment or each chance given to me to meet them all.
I am also looking forward meeting a few blogger friends that I've been in touched with for a few years to give justice to our friendship online. By then our virtual friendship becomes reality which is soooooooo cool to happen. I may not be able to get online as often as I can but I try my best to go to the cafe and update you guys with our vacation.

Eel
Here is a photo of the eel I had last night in Buagsong, Cordova. So nice of my friend for bringing in that place where they cook live eel only for you so you get to eat it fresh and new. I have been thinking about eating eel and I was able to eat it yesterday at long last. Filipinos love eel including me. It is known to be an aphrodisiac for men. Eel can be cooked in four different ways, boil, grill, fried and what they call "larang" as shown in the picture above with all the spicies to make it taste even better.

A Good Chat
I had such a good conversation with one of my good friends in the USA last night. She made my night alive even if I was very tired but she eased my tiredness away. We talked a lot of things including her looking for a scrub because she enrolled herself to become one of the healthcare staff in the hospital near her home. Since I do a lot of reviews on this particular site, I told her to visit www.blueskyscrubs.com because they sell not only they sell scrubs for women but also nursing uniforms. This company only make the finest and most fashionable medical scrubs and medical scrub hats you can ever find on the internet. There is nowhere else you can buy your ever cutest and trendy scrubs, scrub hats, jackets, shirts, medical coats and accessories but by www.blueskyscrubs.com. Get yours now and be comfortable at work.
Back to the conversation with my friend, she couldn't be more thankful to me because she find their products very cute. I am glad I was able to help her in such a little way and my help was being appreciated.

Gift Cards
There is an easy way to give gifts this Christmas. If you are confused as to what kind of present you are going to give to your loved ones, why not choose to buy them gift cards. That way you will make it easier for you and for them. Gift cards are available almost everywhere even online. Personally, I would rather buy someone a gift card because I am always having a hard time looking for gifts for other people. Choosing what particular item to purchase is the hardest way because what if that person won't like your gift?

A Sweet Treat
I had this sweet treat last Sunday. After church I went to treat my cousin and her family this delicious Filipino delicacy with matching cacao hot drink. It is Sunday again here in the Philippines and I might treat myself with this yummy puto-maya snacks after church. This kind of treat is something I seldom eat in Texas just because I don't find purple sticky rice there. Of course if I do, the taste would be different. No doubt, nothing beats the Philippine made puto-maya eh!

Food For The Poor
These are the kind of foods I haven't tasted for almost two years. The ingredients are freshly picked from the garden or bought from the public market. The bamboo shoots and horse radish leaves (first photo below) especially, they are something that can't be bought fresh in America.
......... second photo right here is the lukot, I don't know its term in English...it's a seafood mixed with spices, vinegar, a little bit of salt and native pepper...
....... third photo is of pork blood pudding that can be bought in carenderias all over. I love it's soft and tasty soup in my taste buds.

Funeral Arrangements
I don't know how funeral arrangements are done in the US. All I know is that if someone dies, he or she already has ideas what to do with his/her body according to his wishes, where it is to be buried and how. I have only been to a funeral once in America and it was nicely done, everything was smooth. However, I can make an inquiry at certain funeral homes somewhere in case someone I know that is close to me dies. Huh it's not that I am cursing them, we are all going there when it's our time.

Kawasan Falls Adventure
My strong feet already took me to Kawasan Falls, a three-hour bus ride away from the city located in the outskirts of Badian. I have lived all my life in Cebu but I have never been there until last Thursday, December 2,2010. Yes, the falls is indeed very beautiful, very refreshing and most of all relaxing. The long trip made us all exhausted but it was all worth the trip.
To get to the falls you have to ride a bus that takes you to the South and then when you are at the destination you will have to walk a few meters farther to get to it. I would never forget my Kawasan adventure, it was so great going there with friends whom you are comfortable to be with....
......photo above is of myself by the Ceres bus lines that we rode taking us to Badian........... the narrow trail leading to the falls with a great river view and a cliff on the otherside...
........ with baby girl, Sarah and Jacky by the sign
....... and the fun began at this place.... I had a very good back massage from the nature. I laid flat on the rift and let the falling water do its job on my back...
