Two Mary Annes

I am glad to know I am flying back home I made quite a few accomplishments in this trip of mine. I met a few selected friends here in the Philippines who I treasure so much. Two of the buddies closest to my hearts are the two Mary Annes I have known for a while. The first two photos are of me, Jadyn, little sister Alex, Mary Anne Thompson - author of Mary Anne's Musing. I met her last December of 2011. Sorry for the late posting about our eyeball because internet in Davao isn't accessible.

She is a fine woman who happened to be Jadyn's angel when we were there. She was patiently waiting at the doctor's clinic with us for the whole 2 freaking hours just to have my Jadyn checked by the doctor. I appreciate all the help and concern you've shown to my kid, babay!
........ SM Davao with the kiddos and of course friendship Mary Anne
........ the third photo is of me and Mary Anne and her son Matthew. She was my classmate in UHA Caregiver last 2005. There were times when we lost contact with each other but with social networking sites and the power of YAHOO MESSENGER we got our communication back. It was nice to see her again and her family after parting ways since we finished the course.
........ yours truly and the cute Australian kid and my baby girl, Jadyn....

iPods

I guess I know what I want from my husband this coming Valentine's day. I am on the look out for ipods for I got so many nice music including Korean pop music saved in my computer that I am so afraid of losing. You know this computer is 3 years old and it can crash anytime. I better be prepared when that happens so an ipod could be a good gadget to possess in case something will happen to my computer. I am not so fond of ipods but what I care about is to save all my favorite music before they are all gone.

Send Strawberries

Jadyn hasn't eaten strawberries for two months due to the fact that we are on vacation in a tropical country. Strawberries are grown in cold countries and if you see some in the Philippines they will be from Baguio which are very tiny in size, not the same thing as what she used to eating. She would ask me for her dada to send strawberries so that she could eat some. I chose not to buy her here for they are kind of expensive plus they are very tiny. Anyway, she can have all the strawberries she wants for we are flying back to Texas later this evening. We are both excited, I believe. Not only we can obtain peace in our own home but we can also see our dada/husband together again. God bless our trip, I hope Jadyn will make it easy for both of us.

Simple Life

Photos below are captured during our visit to my grandma's place in Barili last weekend. These are of my mother, cousin Itis and her son doing the pounding/grinding of banana to make "saging linusak", don't know the word in English. All I know is that the finish product will be a mixed of banana, young coconut flesh and brown sugar that makes it a delectable afternoon snack. Photos 1,2 and 3 show the processes of how we do it. First off, we boil the raw banana, peel off the skin when it's cooked, place in mortar and pestle-a huge one then slowly mix the ingredients together as you continue on pounding.

Doing this again after a couple of years I haven't visited my grandmother's place brings back old childhood memories. We used to do this a lot when I was seven years old. Rice or grits was a scarcity when I lived with my grandparents so we do the banana in replacement of rice just so we can fill our hungry stomach.

Hydroxycut Review

If one is using hydroxycut to be a fat burner, think again. I have read some reports or article on the news posted onhydroxycutreview.org about the product not being clinically proven to be a fat burner. MuscleTech’s own study showed that Hydroxycut has no efficacy as compared to placebo with the possible exception of an appetite-suppressing effect. Moreover, the serious adverse health risks of Hydroxycut with ephedra – including death – were not adequately described or disclosed in marketing and labelling of the product.”

Hydroxycut for some reason has become the most popular fat burners ever and it has drawn a lot of attention from users, the media and government.

Best Diet Pills

What do you think is the best diet pills that could help someone lose weight quickly? I guess any diet product is the best only if the person knows which one works for him or her, right? It's not the price of the pill that can guarantee you but it is the proper ingredient it contains and reviews from proven customers who have used the diet pills for so long. At Pricesexposed.net, people or consumers will be informed about misleading diet pill claims. Many diet pills can undermine your health, cause physical discomfort and lead to disappointment when you regain weight soon after you lose it.

No Diet For Me

There is no diet for me for the fact that I am pregnant. I eat anything I want to eat and nothing is stopping me. Aside from that, rarely I can visit the Philippines where Filipino foods are abundant, I take advantage of the precious moment I am here. For some, they are trying to lose weight and are dying to get themselves appetite suppressants over the counter that they can find, I'm the opposite. I am looking for an appetite enhancer. Hahaha how crazy people are. I think God get confused sometimes because of the way His people act.

The Best Afternoon Snack

When I think of something yummy, one of the many things that come in my mind is this deliciously cooked very warm "binignit" complete with all the ingredients that make it more drooling. One boring afternoon, I laid down in bed and it suddenly popped in my mind and so I got up went to the market, bought the ingredients for "binignit" and cooked a pot of it. I plan of making this snack before I leave for Texas.
.......... just looking at these photos, it make me want to eat it again right now..

Galaxy Tablet PC

I am not particular with gadgets nor do I obsessed with high end gadgets or electronics. As long as I have everything I need, I am fine and I can live with that. But of course I know what a cool electronic or high technology stuff are like this Galaxy Tablet PC and I appreciate its beauty and capabilities. Only I don't make it a priority to buy what is the latest on the market. I am not just that type of person, sorry. However, I do read news or browse for those kind of stuff on the internet just for the fun of it and not to make myself behind from the latest events in this world.

Stockings

People who work long hours standing up are required to wear or use compression stockings in order to prevent varicose veins. At least that is what I heard from them. Or there are other purposes why stockings are a must wear for ladies. Some may disagree of what I am saying here but I must admit, wearing stockings make your leg comfortable when at work. There is also a decorative stocking I saw just now, it is the kind of stocking that you can wear in your warm that looks like a tattoo. I think this is a good wear for fun to fool people that you got plenty of tattoos in your arms. Of course I saw it at www.lymphedemaproducts.com

Fine Seafoods

I will never get tired of eating seafoods because for me they are the best. I am m beyond happy I am having my first trimester here in the Philippines where seafoods and other delicious delicacies are bountiful. How fortunate of me to be able to just go to the public market and buy anything I think of eating without hesitations. If I want something, I just hop in the cab and go. Aside from having my freedom back for a while, I also get to taste all the foods I cannot have back in the U.S.
......... my ever favorite fresh grilled squid...
...... lato as we call it...
..........grilled yellow fin......

........ and raw fish salad with all the needed spices to make it drooling.......

New Year's black eyed peas

Guest post written by Lucy Clark

No I'm not talking about the hip-hop group, I'm talking about the actual food. See, it's been kind of a family tradition to have a special good luck lunch on New Year's Day complete with black eyed peas and other certain dishes for good luck. But now it's time that I teach my kids how to fix these dishes, or at least get them to try and see how I make them and somewhat assist.

My daughter and my son both don't cook anything besides frozen pizzas, Lean Cuisines and microwave chicken nuggets, but then again I've always cooked for them so they've never really had a reason to have to cook much themselves. I was online looking at recipes and thinking about how to teach them how to make them and when I was doing that I came across some Portland clear wireless internet offers. I read some information about them and ended up signed up for one of them for our home internet service.
When I told my daughter that, she was really interested in learning how to make New Year's black eyed peas because apparently that's her favorite New Year's dish, which I didn't know until now!
