4 Generations

Before I flew to the Philippines from Texas I planned of taking a picture or two of the hands of my family that shows 4 generations in total which came in to reality when we went to Davao. These pictures show the hand of four people each from the oldest to the youngest generation. These are of my grandmother Adi's hand who is 84 years old now, my father's 52 years old, my little sister, 10 years old and lastly Jadyn's (my grandmother's great grandkid) hand who is turning 3.

I can compare them to a tree that is almost a hundred years old. My grandmother is like their root, father as the trunk, Alexia the little sister to be the fruit and Jadyn is the bud or the flower. Cool, isn't it? How many of you guys have the chance to take a picture of your family before they were gone in this world? I guess this only happens rarely so I took advantage of the great opportunity while grandmother is still with us.

Beauty stocking stuffers

Guest post written by Carolyn Hayes

All of my siblings and I are coming to our parents' house for Christmas which I'm sure is going to be a little hectic and scary. But we're the only ones with a kid so it won't be as crazy as it would be if there were other grandchildren. But while I was out buying some stocking stuffers for our son, I got inspired to buy a few to put in everyone else's stockings.

Before my trip to buy stocking stuffers, I had gone online to get some ideas for what to get my son, husband and brother. While I was doing that I came across some direct tv internet bundle specials and after I looked through them, I signed us up for one of them.

I knew to get some beauty stocking stuffers for my sisters and I, so I picked up some nail polish colors and some Burt's Bees chapstick, which I swear by. I also got some good smelling aftershave for my husband and brother. If I had my way, IÕd give my brother a new haircut as a stocking stuff. But unfortunately, thatÕs impossible.

Bye Cebu, Hello Davao!

We are just waiting for the time to leave for Cagayan de Oro. We are leaving this afternoon at 5 to the pier where the Super Ferry is docked. This will takes us an overnight cruise to CDO then tomorrow morning we'll be riding in a painstaking 8 hours bus ride from CDO to Davao. All these I am willing to to go through just so I can be with my grandma, aunties/uncle and cousins once again. This is also for Jadyn so that she can meet the rest of her Filipino family before she goes back to the USA. Occasions like these seldom happen so I must savor each moment or each chance given to me to meet them all.

I am also looking forward meeting a few blogger friends that I've been in touched with for a few years to give justice to our friendship online. By then our virtual friendship becomes reality which is soooooooo cool to happen. I may not be able to get online as often as I can but I try my best to go to the cafe and update you guys with our vacation.

Eel

Here is a photo of the eel I had last night in Buagsong, Cordova. So nice of my friend for bringing in that place where they cook live eel only for you so you get to eat it fresh and new. I have been thinking about eating eel and I was able to eat it yesterday at long last. Filipinos love eel including me. It is known to be an aphrodisiac for men. Eel can be cooked in four different ways, boil, grill, fried and what they call "larang" as shown in the picture above with all the spicies to make it taste even better.

A Good Chat

I had such a good conversation with one of my good friends in the USA last night. She made my night alive even if I was very tired but she eased my tiredness away. We talked a lot of things including her looking for a scrub because she enrolled herself to become one of the healthcare staff in the hospital near her home. Since I do a lot of reviews on this particular site, I told her to visit www.blueskyscrubs.com because they sell not only they sell scrubs for women but also nursing uniforms. This company only make the finest and most fashionable medical scrubs and medical scrub hats you can ever find on the internet. There is nowhere else you can buy your ever cutest and trendy scrubs, scrub hats, jackets, shirts, medical coats and accessories but by www.blueskyscrubs.com. Get yours now and be comfortable at work.

Back to the conversation with my friend, she couldn't be more thankful to me because she find their products very cute. I am glad I was able to help her in such a little way and my help was being appreciated.

Gift Cards

There is an easy way to give gifts this Christmas. If you are confused as to what kind of present you are going to give to your loved ones, why not choose to buy them gift cards. That way you will make it easier for you and for them. Gift cards are available almost everywhere even online. Personally, I would rather buy someone a gift card because I am always having a hard time looking for gifts for other people. Choosing what particular item to purchase is the hardest way because what if that person won't like your gift?

A Sweet Treat

I had this sweet treat last Sunday. After church I went to treat my cousin and her family this delicious Filipino delicacy with matching cacao hot drink. It is Sunday again here in the Philippines and I might treat myself  with this yummy puto-maya snacks after church. This kind of treat is something I seldom eat in Texas just because I don't find purple sticky rice there. Of course if I do, the taste would be different. No doubt, nothing beats the Philippine made puto-maya eh!

Food For The Poor

These are the kind of foods I haven't tasted for almost two years. The ingredients are freshly picked from the garden or bought from the public market. The bamboo shoots and horse radish leaves (first photo below) especially, they are something that can't be bought fresh in America.
......... second photo right here is the lukot, I don't know its term in English...it's a seafood mixed with spices, vinegar, a little bit of salt and native pepper...
....... third photo is of pork blood pudding that can be bought in carenderias all over. I love it's soft and tasty soup in my taste buds.

Funeral Arrangements

I don't know how funeral arrangements are done in the US. All I know is that if someone dies, he or she already has ideas what to do with his/her body according to his wishes, where it is to be buried and how. I have only been to a funeral once in America and it was nicely done, everything was smooth. However, I can make an inquiry at certain funeral homes somewhere in case someone I know that is close to me dies. Huh it's not that I am cursing them, we are all going there when it's our time.

Kawasan Falls Adventure

My strong feet already took me to Kawasan Falls, a three-hour bus ride away from the city located in the outskirts of Badian. I have lived all my life in Cebu but I have never been there until last Thursday, December 2,2010. Yes, the falls is indeed very beautiful, very refreshing and most of all relaxing. The long trip made us all exhausted but it was all worth the trip.

To get to the falls you have to ride a bus that takes you to the South and then when you are at the destination you will have to walk a few meters farther to get to it. I would never forget my Kawasan adventure, it was so great going there with friends whom you are comfortable to be with....
......photo above is of myself by the Ceres bus lines that we rode taking us to Badian...
........ the narrow trail leading to the falls with a great river view and a cliff on the otherside...
........ with baby girl, Sarah and Jacky by the sign
....... and the fun began at this place.... I had a very good back massage from the nature. I laid flat on the rift and let the falling water do its job on my back...

Snowshoes

When you go outdoor and do snow sports like skiing, crescent moon snowshoes are the kind of shoes you want to wear. Fun At The Beach

One of the many things I missed about the Philippines is the beach and  the fresh seafoods. Finally, Jadyn and I had our first swimming at the beach yesterday. Mike invited us to go with him and so we did. I brought my little siblings with me as well as the older one, Anderson. The salty warm water of the ocean is so relaxing for my tired body. W were all exhausted when we went back to the house kay daghan kiat. Here's just three samples of the fun we had yesterday.
.......... can you tell I loved being in the water playing with the kiddos...above photo is of my baby girl, little brother and little sister...
.......... second photo is when we were about to leave Blue reef..picture taking with Mike, Jacky, Adong and my little Princess...
...........and here's the usual food when at the beach, grilled milk fish, grilled pork and kinilaw bulinaw with matching guso!

Natural Acne Treatment

When a cousin of mine asked how much is this certain type of acne treatment which I am not familiar, I tried looking for it on the internet but couldn't find the right product, I told her it isn't available in the US market since it is Korean made. And when I went to South Korea for a stopover, I roamed around their stores in the airport and there I saw this cream that she was talking about. The prices are choking high and so I said, why would she want to use something that is very expensive? Why not settle for a natural acne treatment that won't cost her much and the product is all natural plus it works effectively. Whatever her reasons are, she is the only one that knows what's best for her acne. I hope that she found that acne product that she can afford.

The Best

I had my first barbeque dinner last night since I arrived. Thanks to Jacky for buying me those. Man, how I craved for the sweet and very tasty Filipino style barbeque. Rest assured I am gonna have more of those in days to come. I promise I eat everything every food that is appealing to me. This is one of the reasons why I came home all the way from America just to have a taste of the foods I don't find/make in Texas. So yummy!! I can't believe I am here in Pinas so free to eat the foods I crave for and go freely anywhere I want to go not needing someone to drive me around.

First Thanksgiving Dinner

The Author of this post is Timothy Malone

Today I decided to write about Thanksgiving dinner. This will be my first Thanksgiving dinner at my new place in Phoenix and I want to make it as memorable as possible. I'm accustomed to spending Thanksgiving at my parents place in Tucson, but I decided to invite them here this year to commemorate the purchase of my first home.

I'm also inviting a few close friends over. I was able to convince them to bring some goodies. My best friend Lisa will be bringing the pumpkin pie while my friend Angela is going to be bringing wine. I called my mom up for her gravy and her stuffing recipe last week and plan on picking up all the food about a week before Thanksgiving day. I'm still trying to decide on the entertainment for the day. I know my dad will be preoccupied with watching the football games, but I'm not sure how I can keep my mom from invading the kitchen. I really want to do as much as I can by myself and let my mom relax and enjoy the meal. I figure I'll do most of the prep work in the morning before my parents arrive and that the actual cooking will only take me a few hours. It'll be a long day. Definitely plan on kicking up my feet and relaxing while watching some Direct TV after dinner.

Fresh Seafoods

I took my family out for dinner the next day I arrived home. I want them to celebrate our safe arrival with me by treating them out. This happens only once in a blue moon and I am glad I did. In our meal, I ordered one kilo each of these foods shown below. We had lapu-lapu fish soup, squid adobo and grilled danguet. It was yummy and what made the dinner so special is that my whole family was with me except my brother Wing2x who is not in the country and my other younger brother Anderson for he had a class at that time.

These are the types of foods I so long to eat. This is something I cannot get from the Asian Market in Texas. Thank God I was able to satisfy some of my cravings. I better be prepared for I got plenty of time to stay here and pig out.

Reduce Body Fat

I have lost 6 pounds since I started doing my serious diet after Summer. I lost even more when I lost my appetite of eating white rice. But despite of that, I still have fats in my belly. How I wish I can find something that helps to reduce body fat. I have no problems with my limbs for they are already skinny but what bothers me is my belly. The only consolation I have is that, because I've had a baby and that is the reason why this fatty abdomen will have no hope in getting rid of it anymore.

Noise And The Crowd

With all the noise and the crowd I saw in MEPZA 1 last night, it felt like there was a big event going on there. Thick number of people were walking on the streets, they looked too busy getting out/in of work. Vehicles bumper to bumper that just can't stop honking their horns. It seemed unreal to me.
It is because in America, very seldom you can see people walking along the streets. Their cars are quiet and drivers don't honk their horns unless they need to.
I know my country it has been like this since I was born but I find it strange nowadays. Not to mention, Filipinos aren't afraid crossing the streets with all these rushing vehicles. Instead they let the drivers stop for them.

Depression Treatment

There is a big difference between the two countries I belong now. My home country where I now reside is way ahead/advanced when it comes to medicines, technology and way of life compared to the country where I grew up, the Philippines. Yes, America gives you the opportunities to make your life better and make you comfortable and it has all the conveniences you ever need, but there is one thing that is lacking in it. People don't appreciate things they already have and yet they ask for more. People often suffer depression.

On the other hand, Philippines is poor but people find happiness in every thing they see even if it's the tiniest of the tiniest. They manage to smile amidst all adversity they suffer in life. And depression is a word that doesn't exist in all of Filipinos' minds.

Nodular Acne

There are four types of severe acne, one of which is nodular acne. Cysts are relatively uncommon in acne; however, this form of severe acne is characterized by cysts, which may measure several centimeters in diameter. The nodular cyst of acne is not a true cyst—an abnormal dilatation of a normal skin structure. Acne cysts are nodules of inflammation. The cysts may arise from a papular or nodular acne lesion, or occasionally from a type of cyst that develops in the outer layer of the skin—a type of cyst not usually associated with acne. A cyst may appear to be filled with thick, yellow pus-like fluid. Information obtained from its original SOURCE.

She Knows She Is Flying

My baby girl is so smart for she too, knows that she is flying in the airplane very soon. She always say the same thing over and over again lately saying "fly airplane bring papack play uncle Adong Auntie Alex trucks" which means that she will fly in the airplane and bring her backpack so she can play with uncle Adong and auntie Alex with her trucks. She can say that over ten times a day which can be annoying sometimes but I can't blame her, she is just so excited seeing my little brother and sister again. The clock is ticking, just 2 more nights and we'll be gone. I am getting nervous at the same time excited for that very day we are going to the airport. I am so ready here, I tell yah!

Gambling, Is It Practical?

I may not comprehend very well why some people should go out for trips going to places where they can have an ultimate gambling experience like Las Vegas while in fact they can just do the online casino. I really think it isn't practical at all to go somewhere else while you can just sit comfortably in your own chair at home. But oh well, it's their life. They probably wouldn't do just to gamble but also to do other stuff aside from that. What I don't understand is that why other people is so willing to spend on to some things that aren't necessary. Shall we say, playing casino is their favorite past time, yeah right but is it really needed to spend that much money on it? It is okay to gamble though as long as you do it in moderation.

I grew up to be poor. My family was poor (until now) and we only had very limited resources so my parents tried really hard to support us and sent us all to school. My father especially, was always very tight with his money which I can deeply understand for he was the only one working in the family of 9. I could remember him always telling us if we had extra money left from school, we should always keep it for the next day because we will never know if he can come up some money in the next day to give us. So I learned so much from my experience with my father.

I learned to be frugal all my life. I always think there is no one out there to give me some money if I need it. Not even my parents or my siblings. I learned how it is to work hard so you can earn. With the kind of life I am living now, I should say I am more comfortable than I was before in the Philippines. I am living the American dream which my husband provided for me and our baby. Thanks to him but even that, I still try to be good at handling money. I tend to be tight sometimes too if I have to because time will come we need it. It's like saving up for the rainy season. And that rainy season will soon to come...but I doubt if what I've saved up for a year would be enough?

That Was Just A Dream

I dreamed of being in a big party at my grandmother's place in Davao last night. In my dream, there was a huge crowd that consisted of my aunts/uncles, cousins, my grandmother, their neighbors and the entire village all were happily having a feast together. I, as one of their visitors enjoyed the food they served on the table too. When everybody was almost done with their food, my grandmother then ordered the people she hired to bring the two big newly roasted porks inside so her visitors can start eating them.

The very first person who started taking off the pigtail was me! What a joy. I then cut some of the crispy skin of the pork and ate a lot of it to contain my stomach....I was in the middle of munching on the crispy and tasty roasted pork skin... only to be awakened by that soft sound coming from the outside and found myself that I was just dreaming. I started  moving my head and see if the crowds were still there but I was so disappointed that I was still in our house, lying in our bed...home in Texas...grrrrrrrrrr...I really thought it was real argggssss....kalami sa layf nagdamgu perting hamal kubal sa litson oi nakamata pud kog dali duh....

Going To Be Broke

People who have been following my blogs on Facebook should know how excited I am now for the big trip. I have been so vocal about it that almost everybody knows we are flying. What can I do? I just can't keep it a secret so I shock everyone else when I get there. Uh uh that is the hardest thing to do on Earth.

I expect to enjoy all the things I see when I go for trips to my grandmother's place, meeting familiar and seeing old faces again, treat my little siblings to food chains they don't usually go and most of all pigging out the freshest seafoods I can ever eat. But with all these being said, I would also expect to be broke in just a month. Big Holidays are coming up and it would be too awkward if I wouldn't make a small feast for noche buena for my family.

Duh whatever. I just think of the joy and happiness I am going to experience once I'm on a vacation. Going home is like going to Las Vegas to play slot machines, casino and other gambling that you would not come home with a dime in a pocket. I know for sure, once you are in Vegas you can't help but spend your money, try out some things you haven't done before. If this is what it takes for a temporary happiness.

Oh by the way, talking about slot machines, if you are looking for a good website to play online slots, you might want to check out the link provided above and try it yourself. There are seven different online slots there that you can choose to play. Oh not before I forget, each of the seven online slots featured has its corresponding review that gives you idea how it is to play in each unique websites.

Too Excited

I've packed my luggage 3 weeks earlier that obviously says I am very excited for my upcoming trip to the Philippines which is just 4 days away now. I have rearranged contents of these luggage here, took them out,  put them back in again for a couple of times. As long as they are still there waiting for us to get to the airport, I guess I cannot stop messing with my stuff that's in there. Sigh! The waiting seems forever. I am so anxious getting in the plane now and get this long and tiring trip get over with.

My Lunch Hour

This guest post from Daryl Glass

Lunch hour is sacred for me. It's time to unwind from a harried morning and purge myself in preparation for the activities, challenges and whatever problems the afternoon brings. Usually, I go it alone. I'll grab a bite from a drive-through joint (unless I brought something from home) and head for a quiet corner of the park.

Reading is a favorite activity of mine during the fleeting quiet time. Occasionally, I'll not even crack a book open and just people watch instead. They watch me and I watch them; I sometimes wonder if their minds are as blank as mine during the process. I guess it's a form of meditation for me.
On those occasions when I want to be around people during lunch, I go to the Japanese restaurant and get something to munch on. I'm surrounded by strangers - no co-worker shop talk for me. I'll sit and idly eat while catching up on the latest news coming over their directSTARtv station.

No matter what I choose to do, it always seems to work. I slowly get back to the job, get my mind in gear and pick up the rhythm again. My soul and spirit cleansed from a peaceful hour, I am able to pick up the tasks with a renewed vigor and sprint to the finish of the day.

My Laptop Is Back

I kissed my laptop as soon as my husband handed it to me when he arrived home this afternoon. I really thought I would fly without my computer with me! He probably can buy me a new one but I told him I don't want a new one, I want my laptop be back soon for I feel there is something in me that is missing, it's like my computer has become a vital part of my body. If I don't/can't use it I feel incomplete.

It stayed at the shop for two freaking weeks just to have the entire type pad replaced and they got me a new battery too. Now it's good to go for a long travel with me, soon!

Granted, new computers have the latest operating system, a lot of upgrades in them and a lot faster but who cares? All I want is my three-year old thingy that has been of service to me for those years. It survived three hard falls done by Jadyn yet I see no defect on it except for that very little crack at the back of the screen. Oh how I missed my laptop! WELCOME HOME MY DEAR COMPUTER, MOMMY MISSED YOU SO MUCH XOXOXO!

Clean And Fresher Mouth

How nice of the husband to hear me every little thing I wish to do. You see I had my braces off four days ago, the absence of braces in my teeth make the stains from drinking soda so very visible that look so ugly as if I am a smoker. So the only option to get rid of the stains is to get my teeth cleaned by our dentist.

Just before we could go out from my orthodontist's office my husband called our dentist to set my cleaning appointment which happened yesterday. Honestly, I am pretty satisfied of the service they have. The dental assistant is an expert, an old woman who works in that office for a couple of years. It took more than half an hour to finish the job which I believe is good for she had done a thorough cleaning in every teeth I have and cleaned also the very hard to reach areas of my mouth. She remove the stain, flossed me, brushed the surface of the teeth with circular dentist brush and so on...

I am glad I have a husband who does things a wife wants. A husband who hears me whenever I say something to him and most of all thanks to him for paying cash for my cleaning yesterday (we are not in PPO this year)  so he needed to pay cash for it. It was quite costly but it's worth the money. I now have cleaner, fresher breath and mouth, the teeth especially it's like I am wearing dentures for they are near perfect right now.

She Is Bored

I talked to my online buddy last night just before 8 pm and she just popped out of my window saying she was bored. I then asked her what sort of things that could entertain her and she was hinting me that she is kind of addicted to playing casino online. Well, of course I know a few really good casino sites including casinoscandinavia which then I recommended to her that she should visit this site. She was thankful to me for I saved her night from being bored. I hope that she enjoyed the website as much as most casino players online do. I heard so much about this site that is why I am telling this to my close friends.

Pochero

When I arrive to my native land I promise to myself that I am going to eat  anything I wished to eat. No matter what the effect may be, gaining ten pounds or more I don't care.  One of the many Filipino dishes I have been craving so much is this Pochero dish right here. I've had this during my last visit in the Philippines over a year ago. Looking at it makes me drool! I know exactly  where to go to have this mouth-watering pork marrow soup with bokchoy and corn on a cob...at a restaurant nearby across Save More mart.

Luxurious Places To Stay

If you plan of traveling out of the state to do business or to do pure pleasure with your special someone or family, I guess it wouldn't hurt if you stay at one of the hotels on 5th ave. "Jet Set Living" as they call it once thought as a lifestyle only for the wealthy has come full circle. Jet Luxury Resorts offer Four and Five Star Luxury Hotel and Luxury Resort properties in addition to their luxury vacation rentals and estates at affordable rates for the business or vacation traveler. For inquiries do visit them on their official website and do not hesitate to contact the customer service for your questions.

Skin Problem

What could be the best treatment to your skin problem might not be the right one that you are currently using. Try switching to proven products that have the best review and dermatologist tested products. For example, turn to the best acne treatments that you can find online today. Read the reviews, the ingredients, the pros and cons of the certain product you aim of buying. Anyway, if one won't work for you, you still have options to try another acne treatment until you can find the perfect formulation for your acne.

Sheriff Woody

Our big girl's new toy is Sheriff Woody from the popular movie Toy Story. It was her dada's choice to pick Woody and buy it for our girl. For some reason, he'd like to share his interest with Woody to Jadyn. At first Jadyn doesn't like Woody but then when she learned that it has 25 different sayings she then learned to love the toy.  The toy  my husband bought is the one that Disney recommends.

This Sheriff Woody looks just like in the movie and is ready for playtime with his own  "interactive" cowboy hat! He knows if you remove the hat from his head and he reacts! Place hat back on facing front and magically he knows and responds!

County Fair Here I Come

Contributed by Alvin Graves

Each and every year I attend about 3 county fairs. I attend the one for my county and the two for the surrounding counties. My favorite fair is ht Geauga county fair. It is in a more rural setting and is pretty large. What I love about fairs is looking at the exhibits they have. This is where prized animals are shown.

Another thing I love about the fairs is buying some of the locally grown produce. They have stands set up with some of the best locally grown food you can find. I like to load up on some of the delicious apples that they have there every single year.

Another great thing about the county fair are the pony rides for the kids. My children can't get enough of riding the ponies. They usually ride the ponies four or five times. They also get their picture taken with the pony. After my kids are done with the ponies, it's treat time. They usually want a big cup of lemonade and some cotton candy. Sometimes they might want a funnel cake also. After a fun day at the county fair we come home and relax by watching best choice tv until we fall asleep.

Insurance Is A Must

For sure most people know that getting a car insurance before you can drive your car on the road is a must but how come there are still a lot of people who don't seem to car buying one for their car? A&F Additional 25% Off Redline

I have always been a favorite shopper for Abercrombie and Fitch's graphic tees simply because they feel so cool and comfortable in my skin. The material is of high quality and lightweight which draws me to purchasing their products. Yes, they are expensive but I just don't jump on to things if they aren't on sale. I wait for the tees to be in CLEARANCE so then I can afford a tee or two when I shop at their store or online.

If you'd like to take advantage of their newly marked down items just feel free to visit their website and take an additional 25% off redline items online until 11/14! I just bought two tees. I can't wait to receive them in the mail in the next few days. I went to their outlet store in Grapevine a week ago but I couldn't find anything I like. Good thing I've waited a bit before buying because now there are plenty of tees that I could choose and these two up here are what I like.

LCD TV

Oftentimes my husband and I fight with Jadyn over one t.v in this house. She definitely needs her own 22 inch LCD TV so she can just watch her movies all day long without interrupting us when we watch our own show in our big screen TV.

A Nice Break

I am glad I can now access to the internet. From not having my computer around for three days down to not having internet access at all. Something went wrong with the connection yesterday after my husband left. All I know is that he has had internet at dawn and when I woke up at 7 to use his computer, there was not a single bar of connectivity on the the icon located bottom right task bar.

Well, I took it as a positive way to have a nice break from a chaotic online/virtual world. I have accomplished a lot of things yesterday since no I had no internet. I took my time rearranging my two pieces of luggage, I cleaned the two bathrooms and spent time talking to my baby girl. All in all, a day with no internet wasn't bad at all. It didn't make me upset nor did it piss me.

Fruit Of The Loom

Two pieces of luggage are already packed and ready to go. They both are very full and are stuffed with more presents for my family including chocolates. My husband asked me why can't I buy some chocolates when I get there and I replied it's because I want to bring something to them that is from America. Huh, stupid answer why chocolates sold in Duty Free Philippines aren't from America too? Lol for that.

Ah, I just love to shop for stuff in stores here because they are on sale. I doubt if I can purchase discounted chocolates in the Philippines? Anyways, aside from what's in the luggage I am also expecting for my balik-bayan box to arrive days after I get there. One of the things I put in my box is the fruit of the loom brand for boys underwear and my sister's underwear

I hope they will be happy to receive them from me. They are simple things that I can afford to buy yet they are heartily given. I only expect for them to appreciate what is given to them because when I was growing up, I didn't have someone to give me nice presents especially from abroad.

Deafening Noise

It's been two days since I am not on my computer. Right now, it is probably in the hands of other people or in my husband's car trunk. Wherever it is, I can only hope that I can have it back this afternoon for I miss my laptop already. It acted up on me yesterday when I tried entering my password in order to start my computer but two keys are broken, letters Y and U. My password contains a U letter and for that I couldn't type in the whole word for it simply doesn't give me an input U.

I am on my husband's computer and it feels awkward simply because I am not used to it. I have no complain of the computer's speed though but the deafening noise it makes coming from the back of the CPU or what you call the whole thing where the brain of the computer is located. Ah it's the fan that makes the sound! I have no idea how he survived listening to the fan everytime he uses his computer while he is so sensitive to noise or any sounds that are irritating.

Johnstown County Fair Starts Today

Guest post contributed by Mae Sweet

I can't wait, I am so excited. The Johnstown County Fair starts today and I will be there with bells on. I am a cotton candy lover and I usually eat one as soon as I get there. Of course then I need some fresh sweet tea to wash it down! I usually don't like to go on too many rides, but the Ferris wheel is one that I do love to ride. I try not to eat too much cotton candy until after the ride!

I also love to play all the silly fair games. Ring toss and the one you try to get a ball into the little fish bowl to win a gold fish. I only take $50 with me to the county fair, if I took more I would probably spend it all. My daughter and son usually go to the county fair with their school friends. They say they don't want to be seen at the fair with their mom!

I did enter a pie this year. I actually entered a cherry pie and a chocolate pie. I couldn't make up my mind which one to make, so my husband said make both! I did, and they both look delicious. If I win I am going to go home, get myself a big slice of pie and watch direct tv!

Gift Idea

Are you confused as to what kind of gift you are going to give to special someone who is having a birthday or a celebration of their life? Browse at Macy's website and find this sweet sweet Hershey's pair of earrings and necklace for such a reasonable price. I am pretty sure that someone you are gonna give these jewelry to will be very happy.

When I first saw it online I thought it was a very cute pair of jewelry to have but I try not to be tempted with it as I have other important things to buy rather than that.

Life Insurance

What is essential for a human being to have is most ignored by people back in my home country. A life insurance that is. How can they afford to Buy Life Insurance if they don't have a steady income to use even for their daily basic needs?.... but I am not going to talk about that further.

Getting yourself covered is like protecting your family's future as well. Anytime, something could happen to you and if that is the case, if you die unprepared you family that was left behind will carry the burden of your death. Financial burden specifically.

Who can qualify for Term Life Insurance? Well, good news for you because it is ideal for many people. Check out Online Life Insurance and see if you belong to these categories;

Term life insurance without a medical exam is ideal for many different types of individuals:

*

People who need coverage right away
*

People who have health complications that make getting ordinary life insurance more difficult
*

People who - for personal or religious reasons - want or need to avoid lab tests, needles, and other procedures. Most ordinary insurance companies require a medical examination: an appointment with a doctor, blood and urine lab tests, a blood pressure test, and other exams
*

Older people, who may be denied coverage because of their age
*

Older people or people with a terminal illness who plan to use the death benefit of their policy to pay for their funeral expenses
*

People who simply don't want - or don't have the time - to fill out extensive questionnaires from ordinary insurance companies

Traveling With Us

My husband's closest buddy here is traveling with us. I like the idea having him to accompany us so I can have someone to help me with my baby girl during the long painstaking flight to the Philippines. This guy has been my husband's close friend for so long and for that Jadyn and I became comfortable around him too which is a good thing. We invite him over once in a while to have a cook out with us and so that he and Sandy can talk about politics and other stuff they like to tackle about.

While sitting outside, they would smoke their mini cigars which doesn't bother me at all for they only do it occasionally. It doesn't smell bad either. In fact I love the scent of the smoke bursting into the air. I asked Mike one time if he'd like to bring some to the Philippines just so he can have something to use and he said no. Well, there are plenty of cigars sold in my home country maybe he can try one of those.

Just Days Away

Hello November! My waiting of going home is just days away. A while back sometime in June I kept saying November is too long to wait and how I wished time flies fast so then we can finally get on the plane and fly. But now that we're almost there I cannot believe that the wait is coming to an end. Hang on there "myself" keep a tight grip for soon you are gonna be in the Philippines.

One luggage is already packed full of more pasalubong for my family this is an addition to what I sent in balik-bayan box 3 weeks ago. The other luggage is awaiting for chocolates which I'll do the shopping this weekend before I can zip my luggage close. By then, I can determine as to how many clothes I need to bring appropriate for hot tropical climate.

Mouth-Watering Shrimp

In the morning I feel lazy that I don't want to stand and cook my own food. If I had a choice I wouldn't do that but I have a baby too. I have to get up anyway, do something in the kitchen in the hope of making different recipe each day so we won't get tired of eating the same food everyday. I cook whatever I can grab from the freezer.

One of the many quick fixes I can do is this fried in butter shrimp with seafood sauce, lemon, diced garlic and voila! We have a good breakfast best paired with brown rice. I am just one lucky momma for having a baby that can eat almost anything. She eats whatever I eat so that's a big bonus already. I don't have to cook two separate dishes each morning.

Good Medical Coverage

Pea-sized brain people back home often compare my husband to the other black man my acquaintance had married. My husband is a police officer in Fort Worth while this other girl's black husband is an engineer. Often I hear rumors about the white guy who is my husband has no money and that they urge their little kids to marry a black guy because they thought blacks have money. That is what their impression between the two.

But little do they know, 80% of the calls my husband receive at work are from blacks who often to be criminals or often involve in any kind of displeasing act in the community. Some if not all are on a welfare, leeching money from their neighbors receiving checks after checks in the mail. Anyway, these brainless people who know nothing about government workers got good medicare coverage and good work benefits. It is a lot better than working in the private sector plus they already have a secure future once they retire.

I just let the rumors pass through my other ear because I know what's the reality here. They are nothing but small minded brains often discuss small things that pushed themselves down even more. Instead working their way to make a progress in their lives instead they keep themselves busy by making gossips whoever are ahead of them.

More Expensive Than My Purse

Last weekend we just went out for the sake of killing time after Jadyn finished her school at The Little Gym. We didn't have a store or place to go in particular that day. We just drove around until my husband decided to go to the Movie Trading Co. store to buy Jadyn some movies. I thought we were only buying her a few movies in regular dvd but to my surprise, my husband actually bought her four movies in Blu-ray discs.

I was astounded as how willing he was to spend that much money on just movies alone. For a new Blu-ray dvd it costs 31.99 each for the used one it will be 28.99 and he bought Jadyn four movies, two new and two are used which are shown in the photo above. Its total is 104 plus dollars.

While I was jealous for my baby having that extravagant movies, I wanted to get something too. Tj Maxx was close to the area where we were, I went inside the store and spent an hour looking around for some items that I'd like to buy. I found a Nine West purse that is black in color and very cute, it was originally priced for 80 USD and bought it for only 29.99. My purse is nothing compared to Jadyn's movies so I didn't give my husband a time to complain about me feeding my addiction.

Seasons Change

As season have changed into Fall, many people are suffering from different types of allergies. One of the many allergies they are suffering from is the migraine brought by some kind of allergen that is floating in the air. So unfortunate of those people to suffer severe migraine pain. But anyhow, they don't have to suffer for a while since most of them will just buy a migraine pain relief or just visit to their doctor and get some medication for their migraine that will then eventually ease the pain. I don't have headaches so far and I don't ever want to have it. It sucks I know.

how to build muscles

There are a lot of ways on how to how to build muscles. You take protein supplements, go to the gym religiously so you will develop muscles, eat red meat for it is rich in protein for it helps you build muscles and most of all, if possible take protein supplements that you can purchase elsewhere or even on the internet. Go to a website that sells top three products to help you build muscles fast. Find out what are those by simply clicking on the link provided above. On the website, you will be shown ratings of those top three products they have.

Medical Cart

I have seen a sample of a medical cart being used in hospitals or even at the nursing home where my late father-in-law lived for the last four years of his life. At the nursing home for example, a medical cart is used to deliver medications in each of the patient's room so they don't have to carry the drugs in their hands one by one. All they have to do is put all the medications and water and other stuff they need in one time and push it. So easy and convenient for caregivers or nurses to take care of their patients. It saves time and energy everytime they need to give out medications for the residents.

Noodle Soup With Chopped Celery

I made a lot of mouths drool over this deliciously cooked noodle soup here with chopped celery and pork meat. I have an exclusive food album on Facebook which I now have more than 30 photos of homemade foods I do in our own kitchen. The latest addition to it is the food above which every Filipina loves to slurp during cold Winter days. Admittedly, I liked it too. It was tasty and I paired it with brown rice and corned beef Philippine brand. I ate this noodle for two days in a row and I tell you what I never get tired of eating it.

Rack Mount PC

What could be more comfortable than sitting in your own chair using your computer with just the right height to your eye level. It is either you can fix the height of your chair or the computer desk or put your computer by using a rack mount PC to the desired height wherein you don't have to stretch your neck just to read what's on the screen or bow down to adjust to the height of your desk. That is not the way how it's done. You should be able to find a way in which you are comfortable, alright? If you are looking for a rack mount PC and other stuff that could bring you ease while doing your computer thing, look no further www.coresystemsusa.com has everything you need.

Nature Fresh

This entry is the continuation of the previous personal post Grandma's House where I used to stay. She is so close to the river and the falls that we enjoyed so much during my early days.

The river is so inviting, you can tell by looking at the picture at how green it is. The second picture is the Mantayupan Falls which now they developed to attract local tourists and people from other places in Cebu. I am glad to know they now have a restaurant and a place to stay in there for people who can't make it home in one day.

The third photos is of the well that serves their source of drinking water of the residents of Gunting. It is a nature's wonder of producing pure, clean and fresh water to drink. I so missed this place. This is where I spent good days with my playmates...I am so anxious visiting back the place that made a great memory of my childhood.

Reusing Boxes

There are times when we need to carefully open the box or package we received from somebody or from shopping online because we never know if we need to return the items back to its original destination. It happened to me several times when I carelessly just tear down boxes or open it with no care if I damage the box itself. I definitely need a box cutter so next time I have to return the item ordered online, I still have a clean box in its good condition. That is my problem about me not thinking about keeping things in good shape until I can be sure that I need to keep the item I bought online.

Wished We Had It

When we had our t.v repaired by a man who works in the company, Samsung company based in Dallas we paid three hundred bucks for it. He changed some parts inside and he traveled all the way from Dallas to our house because we cannot transport our t.v to their office. Of course with him traveling to repair our t.v, travel expense was shouldered by us. We really wished we had tv insurance to cover the cost. This t.v. of ours is over a little three years old therefore, its warranty has long been expired. We paid the repair cost out from our own pocket or from my husband's pocket shall I say. That is so ouch but we cannot let go of our hi-def t.v who has been with us for so long.

Grandma's House

I grabbed this photo from my brother's account on FB. This is my grandma's house in South Cebu. I used to live here for a year because I went to school in Barili Central School when I was in first grade. I so missed this place, everything that reminds me of my childhood including the river, falls and this wooden but humble house of hers.

Seeing this photo makes me wanna go home right away and visit my Lola there.

New Search Engine

Sometimes when I have something to look on the internet, google or yahoo somehow won't give me the result I want to find. Some would just give me crap of information that I don't need which I think is a waste of time. Gladly, Rapidshare Search exist. Just one click of a mouse, it gives me a rapid result, the exact thing that I need to know. It's a new search engine which you guys could try. I can't help but wish sometimes that I have other option to do my research, I want a more faster, reliable web search engine that could give me a minute of precise results.

Chinese Food

Being practical means cooking a lot of food at home. I do crave for Chinese food sometimes but we don't go out that often anymore. What I do is that I try to cook my own stir fry noodle at home, though it won't be as tasty as the ones in the buffet but it's good enough to satisfy my craving. I am just lucky to have found the dried noodles used to make a stir fry.

Cooking Shows on DVR

Guest post written by my buddy Aldo Mays

The DVR service on my satellite tv from http://www.directstartv.com/directv_equipment/directv_dvr/directv_hd_dvr.html is simply great. I am a cooking-show fanatic, and I am always trying to catch the latest shows, episodes, and recipes on Food Network or Food TV. At times though, I may not be able to watch a particular show as it airs, so this is where the DVR comes in handy.

Whenever I have a social obligation to attend to, I set the DVR to record any show that I want to watch before I go. For instance, I recorded an episode of Paula Deen's cooking show, in which she was making this fabulous recipe for Deviled Eggs. The DVR is convenient and fast as I was able to set up the recording within minutes of heading out the door!

I also use the DVR to help me as I cook meals I learn about through the show. I can record a show, then as I work in the kitchen, I can rewind or fast forward certain parts to make sure I mix the batter properly or to make sure I'm using the right ingredient.

Overall, my DVR has helped me become a better cook and has helped me keep up with my favorite cooking shows. I'll be using this service extensively in the coming years!

It Fits Well

I bought this dress of mine on Body Central online store. I was just lucky enough to have found this one on sale for only 9 bucks. Not only was it a great deal but it looks pretty as well. I love the colors too. It was originally priced for 30 bucks and when I saw it online on sale, I went ahead and bought it right away with no hesitations for I know I liked it a lot. I am just glad though that they had my size on this one. I bought it with an intention of wearing this dress for our anniversary celebration.

HGH

HGH or human growth hormone is actually a hormone produced naturally in the brain which is responsible for growth, and cell production. By the time a person reaches by the age of 30, his body starts to slow growth hormone production which causes the first signs of aging. That is why some people would turn to growth hormone injections in order to reverse this process. But of course, when taking injections there could be GOOD AND BAD effects on it, it is all up to him to read the human growth hormone facts stated on the official websites of companies that sell HGH. HumanGrowthHormone.net has taken the time to evaluate both the good, and bad of these supplements to bring you those that are most effective. Do visit and read the information that you can find on the website above.

What Mama Wants

A while back I chatted with my mother and we talked about what my presents are gonna be for each of them. She then asked what is hers. I told her just a couple of lotions and other feminine items. She specifically asked me of beauty products that could help lessen her freckles as well as an eye wrinkle cream. I didn't know how to answer her at that point but the more I think about what she said, the more I wanted to get what she asked for. The eye wrinkle cream especially for I know she wants to look good too when she is out to attend school meetings and other important events.

However, I have to read for eye wrinkle cream reviews and see if it's a good idea to go ahead and buy her some. I don't want to be blamed in the future about giving her something that could potentially make her wrinkle worse. Of course, I am her daughter and I am more than willing to give the best I can just to please her.

In The Events OF Death

In the events of death of your loved ones especially those who lost their lives while at work, who would the family to turn to for help? I guess after what happened to the oil spill at the Gulf, there are still families who aren't able to seek for help they deserve. That is why Texas Maritime lawyers come together and built a company that would help people get the compensation they deserve. These group of lawyers are dedicated to protecting the rights and interests of Offshore workers from the BP/Transocean Oil Spill. They help injured maritime workers, injured response and rescue personnel, family members and inquiry victims, shrimpers, commercial fishermen and oyster farmers and lastly anyone with financial damages from the Oil Spill.

I Couldn't Be There

I missed one of the important events that happened in my family yesterday. My brother Wing2x- he is next to me, got married to his girlfriend now his wife Jennifer Perez. Earlier that day I was able to talk to my family and two of my relatives- mama's siblings just before they went to attend and witness the wedding.

I am kind of jealous because I missed their wedding. I couldn't be there...I am thousands of miles away..no matter how I would like to be there..I just couldn't. Our flight isn't set until November 23rd. Arggsss! I will just have to make it up to them though when I can finally be there...soon baby..soon!

What Helps You Burn Fat?

Thank God I am no longer battling with losing weight now. I did my job, I've done my part in regaining my old self back. Now I am happy of how I look and I never felt this good. Being skinny is a great plus because you can easily hover around without getting tired quickly.

A lot of my married friends are struggling their body right now. They have gained so much weight over the years of their life and now they are asking me for best fat burners. Of course, I do a lot of reviews on diet pills supplements and fat burners and I highly suggested to them if they can visit www.bestfatburners.org so that they will have ideas on which particular product could work best in them.

Hell's Kitchen

Content by Edward Massey

I love to watch Hell's Kitchen. The show just started it's eighth season. I watch the new episodes every week on my satellite television from www.bestchoicetv.com/satellite-tv/fl/. They started with 16 contestants. The contestants are competing to become the head chef at LA Market. The winner would be making $250,000 every year.

In the first episode they went to Hell's Kitchen blindfolded to meet Chef Ramsey. They were divided into male and female teams. They had 45 minutes to prepare their signature dish. They had to present it to Chef Ramsey to taste. Some of the dishes were good. Some were average. Sabrina started yawning in the middle of the competition. This made Chef Ramsey. He told her she could leave the kitchen if she was tired. She said she did not want to leave. He moved on to Antonio's dish. He thought it was horrible and started vomiting. Then he passed the plate around to make everyone taste it. This was very funny.

I love watching Chef Ramsey. He is very strict and yells and curses a lot. It is funny watching the people make stupid mistakes. Chef Ramsey is aggravated quite a bit on the show and constantly yelling and cussing at the contestants. I love Hell's Kitchen, it is a great show.

Our Anniversary Present- PS 3

I am amazed at how quick Sony is in responding our business. We did not expect for our new PS 3 would arrive this early. We got our old one sent in 2 days ago because it is damaged inside. Jadyn must have played  recklessly with it and screwed up the tray that accepts the dvd.

When we tried playing the movie  last time it created a deep scar on to the disc so we had no choice but sent it in to Sony. What a sweet deal to get this new model of ours for we only paid 150 dollars with this of course with the exchange of the old model we had. But even so, it's still a great deal. If we'd purchased it alone it would cost us 400 dollars for a newer one. This serves as our 6th wedding anniversary present for each other. Great timing!

......... see how thin that thing is... hmmmmmmm flawless and it's new...
........our new PS-3 fresh from the box just arrived less than half an hour ago...
