Aspirin Info

Below is an important information forwarded to me by e-mail and I was told to forward it to other people. Instead of forwarding it, I just share it here to be easy for I got several blog visitors than e-mails in my list. It is important to read things like these for in times of emergency or if heart attack occurs to you or someone in your family, you know what to do during the episode.

To add to your body of body knowledge:

Dr. Virend Somers, a cardiologist from the Mayo Clinic who is lead author of the report in the July 29, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally between 6 A.M. and noon, Somers said. Having one during the night, when the heart should be most at rest, means that something unusual happened. Somers and his colleagues have been working for a decade to show that sleep apnea is to blame.

1. If you take an aspirin or a baby aspirin once a day, take it at night. The reason: aspirin has a 24-hour "half-life". therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee hours of the morning, the aspirin would be strongest in your system.

2. FYI, aspirin lasts a really long time in your medicine chest.............years. (when it gets old, it smells like vinegar.)

…….please read on.

Something that we can do to help ourselves. Nice to know.
Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve instantly on the tongue. They work much faster than the tablets.

Why keep aspirin by your bedside?
About Heart Attacks

There are other symptoms of an heart attack besides the pain on the left arm.
One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently.
Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a heart attack.
The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.

If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.

Afterwards:
-call 911
- phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by
-say “heart attack!"
-say that you have taken 2 aspirins.
- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and...
do NOT lie down

A Cardiologist has stated that, if each person, after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life can be saved!

I have already shared the information- - What about you?

Shoulders and Neck Hurt

Ouch! I didn't realize I am in this very bad(slouching, feet up, knees and chin are kissing) position while doing my computer. I am sitting on a love seat right now, not in my regular office chair because I want to keep my mind away from serious works online. I want to just use the computer simply browsing not to feel like I'm working haha murag taw working pa, blogging ra baya.

For me, if I sit on that chair of mine that means I am at work and I only do that in the morning until noon. SIGH! It truly hurts... ah good thing I got efficascent oil here, I'm just gonna lather some to the affected area before I go to bed. I don't care what my bedmates tell me of the strong smell it brings.

I'm Out Busy Working!

The past three days we have been working in our yard, cutting off all those ancient bushes along the side of the house, digging dirt in plant beds transporting to the backyard. Our work isn't easy. It involves a lot of lifting, walking, digging, shoveling and using a lot of strength just to get things done. So far, we are happy of what we have done, we made a lot of progress even just for a short span of time. So is there anyone out there who wants to help me? Come knock on our door and gather the tools in the backyard.... let's get this over with so I can move on with the next project!

..photo above is my husband cutting off the tall bushes...this was started the other day and we finished it yesterday...
..... taking a rest near the bushes to be dumped in the backyard...

....... dirt that we dug and wheeled it in the backyard for our garden.... as you can see there are still some left in the above photo which I am going to do as soon as I publish this one.

Craving For Puto Maya

I would love to make some puto maya later this afternoon because I so crave for it. I forgot I wrongly bought a sack of glutinous rice months ago instead of just purchasing the regular Jasmine rice. No wonder that Vietnamese asked me if I really want to buy the sweet rice but I couldn't comprehend what she was saying, the market was so loud plus her strong accent and I only answered her YES without confirming her question.

So here I am having 25 pounds of sticky rice all by myself. I am using it slowly though for I am waiting for someone to help me with this. Cooking glutinous rice is good for occasional puto maya or biko.

Cute Accessories

These cute kikay accessories I bought last weekend for less than 6 dollars each. The earrings set of three cost only 3.99 bucks and the necklace and earrings pair is only 5.99. Pretty good deal for cute girly stuff like these. I have seen the same kind online, 10.99 the cheapest for one accessory that's cute plus sales tax and shipping.

Girls Talk #: 3 First Food I Pick On A Buffet

shrimp with broc Pictures, Images and Photos

Photo courtesy by photobucket since I don't have my own pic of the first food I choose on a buffet. Whenever we go to a buffet restaurant, I always go get some whatever shrimpy dish with veggies. I love veggies a lot and that should always be present in my meals! How about you?

Her Sweet Prize

It is very seldom when Jadyn can finish the food tendered in front of her. More often than not, she always leaves half of her food in the bowl that I end up throwing away which is a waste of food. That definitely makes me feel bad!

I am happy that Jadyn was able to finish her arroz caldo moments ago. I fed half a bowl of smokin' arroz caldo and fortunately she ate it all! As she made me happy, I gave her an ice cream as her sweet prize for finishing the food. It's an ice cream flavored mocha slides that we both love... and I am gonna have some of it when I am done with my porridge too.

Spotting A Liar

You Sometimes Know When Someone's Lying

You can spot a liar if the liar slips up, but you're not always aware of other people's dishonesty.

Eventually a liar will reveal himself, and you usually will figure out if you've been lied to.

However, someone could be duping you without you knowing it. So watch out for the telltale signs of lying!

When talking to a person especially if I have something to know from him or her, I can tell whether she is lying or not or if I can't detect the lies he is saying the moment we talk, I know that I can discover it eventually so beware of lying to me. I am not that stupid to not know what you are hiding, my instincts is always there to help me and it never failed me so I should listen to what my instincts are saying otherwise I'll be in trouble.

Filipino Foods

I've always been a soup lover but dry food occasionally will be good too. Here's what I had yesterday and for my husband. Simple quick fixes to start our day will give us energy throughout the day without bothering of getting hungry an hour or two later. Not only I love fish but also fried pork chops eh.

Usual Foods For Breakfast

These are the kind of foods I normally cook in this house. I stick to what my intestines used to eating because it simply satisfies my cravings and it fills my hungry stomach big time. Of my 4 years of living here in US, I never learned to love eating American foods like pizza, lasagna, mash potato, mac and cheese and others. It is ok with me to eat their food for snacks but never for heavy meal as I can never feel full after eating them.

....... yeah it's a fish head with horseradish leaves and other spices soup.
.. stir fry ramen, veggies with shrimp...
... mung bean soup with okra and spinach and of course a whole fried fish as subak..
...and below is what filipinos usually have on their table to match with rice...

Box Stuffer

Here's a few t-shirts I bought online for my brothers in the Philippines. They don't cost that much so I went ahead and bought them. They make a good box stuffer and great for tropical country like the Philippines. The material is 100% cotton, very lightweight and cool.

I am very far from filling the balik-bayan box but I believe in due time, it's gonna be full and hopefully send it this year. I still got a couple of months to look around and find stuff that they might like.

Girls Talk # 2 Most Expensive Lunch

....... I was kind of round in this shot because I was 11 months pregnant with my Jadyn in this picture

I remember the most expensive meal we had was when we- husband and I, had our Christmas dinner at Pappadeux last 2007. We ordered two live lobsters in that restaurant that cost us a hundred bucks in our bill that is not including the tip. The food was excellent and the lobsters were huge yet we finished eating all the food in our plate. Although it wasn't our lunch but our dinner still posted it because we seldom go out for lunch and I don't remember we spent that much money on our lunch.

So this is my entry for today. How much is the most expensive meal you had?

Bored, Just Browsing

When I got nothing else to do and am tired of facebooking, what I do is browse for cute dresses and tops online from different websites. There are tons of fashion clothing I have seen which are cute but only very few of them that I can't take my eyes off them. Many times I am tempted of buying them but I am thinking of going home hopefully before this year ends or early next year so I end up closing the windows I opened where I found the cute trends. Here are two of them that I drool so much.

... this plaid halter top can be best compared to an ice cream, once it is melted you can't help but lick it and enjoy the coolness of it..
........ this one caught me among thousands of dresses I saw in amiclubwear... it's my size and only 12.99! Geeeezzz very cheap for something that is classy like this blue thingy...... if someone say buy it Anne, then I wanna go ahead and buy it for me....

I Heart These

I know when I love something could it be shoes, bags, tops or dresses. Like these beautiful blouses here. At first glance I was struck by them. These two colors are my choices if ever I will buy tops. Each sold only for 19.99 but I don't have the money for now. I just spent my money on 5 t-shirts I saw online. I hope when money is available, these tops are still there so I can buy them. Just loving the simple yet stylish cut of these eh.

Blue Flowers

These blue tiny flowers can be found at Dallas Arboretum. These pictures were personally taken by me and love to share it here with you all. I got tons and tons of flower photos that I am about to share in the next couple of days. It may be tiring to see flower photos in all over my blogs but I just love sharing them. Can you blame me, they are too gorgeous!

Spring Blooms

This is what I love Spring, aside from very nice weather I can also get to see various colors of plants and trees. Seeing different colors of trees and flower blooms is refreshing. Everything seems so colorful around this time of the year and that alone makes me wanna live here forever. Proof are the photos I took yesterday of my tulips in our front porch and the big purple tree at the neighbor's backyard.

These purple trees are all over Texas. I don't remember seeing them last year, all I know is that they look amazing and pretty. Do you agree?

...... my hardwork of planting these tulips is paid off, now they are giving beautiful blooms
... purple tree that is so beautiful...
