Clean Floor

It feels good to have clean floor. I sweat only to clean three floors today. I swept, vacuumed and mopped in the middle of hot day. The hard work is paid off for it feels good on the feet to walk barefooted on a clean floor. You know why I cleaned today? Because I have friends coming over tomorrow nyaaaaahahaha I wouldn't do thorough cleaning if nobody is going to see our floor lolz so this is good for I don't remember the last time this poor floor of ours has got its generous cleaning. Now I am ready to face them, waiting for tomorrow's salo salo with close friends. I got chicken meat and pork belly marinated for grilling as well as three medium size fish.

Happy Weekend All!

To all visitors, avid readers and occasional lurkers, HAPPY WEEKEND TO YOU ALL. Hope you spend this time with your family and have sometime to connect with yourselves at home, alone. For us here, it is kinda busy. The husband is doing his manly work outside, removing stumps while I am busy inside the house taking care of my duties including feeding the baby, doing dishes, cleaning the kitchen. I am just taking my time actually while waiting on the husband to finish his job so we can go grocery shopping. I can't wait to drive and buy the ingredients for my signature possum pie to bring at Abigail's birthday party tomorrow. So see you later folks. I may have to drop you ECs if time permits.

Getting Enough Sleep

Getting enough sleep every night is something most people want but not all of them get the kind of sleep they every wanted, sleeping tight all through the night of 6-7 hours that is. Little do they know that their beds they are sleeping on could be the factor why sleeping is so aloof of them. They may be sleeping in a cheap uncomfortable bed but they are afraid to take notice of their beds. Well, if they think so, that is wrong of them to continue sleeping on beds that aren't giving them the sleep they deserve.

There is no sense in buying cheaper brand beds if you cannot get enough sleep at night. Tossing and turning, whatever positions you want to do yet still can't achieve a good shut eye is like living life with full miseries. I have experienced it before, just one or two nights not having a good sleep makes me cranky all day long. It felt like sleep has gotten half of my spirit, adding ten years more to my age. Imagine how stressful that is. Fortunately, it could only happen if something is bugging my mind. Family trouble for instance is what hit me and affects my sleep big time.

Oasis Of The Seas Chef

It's been five months since my brother(next to me) found his way to work in Oasis Of The Seas Caribbean Cruise ship and so far so good. He had done such a tremendous progress as to making his future a brighter one. He paid his debt to us, he sent enough amount of money for our family- kids' tuition fees that is- in the Philippines that makes him "a man" haha. A kid who does his responsibilities is man enough at least for me.

Furthermore, while he is there working as a chef, I am here looking at his pictures makes me wanna get jealous. But oh boy, I shouldn't for I am not a jealous type of person. The fact that he is seeing different amazing places like the Bahamas, Cozumel, Mexico, St. Thomas etc. makes me sulk while I am here staring at the corner of the house all day long. He is my own brother and all I can hope for him is to be successful and continue to seek his fortune somewhere, outside the Philippines.

.... pa cute at work and below are two gigantic ships that bring tourists to a paradise...

Cool Piece

Himalayan Salt Lamps I just found on the internet is really cool. I have never seen such things like these before. This could make a wonderful piece in our bedroom or at Jadyn's room. I will show it to my husband and see what he thinks on these lamps.

Stuff, A Lot Of Them

When we moved out we got a lot of stuff especially house stuff we didn't know we have. Not only that, my FIL's stuff were all moved to us so we got like two houses equivalent of stuff all in all. We are thinking of putting them up on craigslist to sell stuff we don't need. I can't wait for that to happen so we can arrange and organize our home and start buying Dining Chairs. I am not looking for fancy ones, just a few good quality chairs are fine with me as long as they don't look flashy yet wobbly.

Craving Satisfied

I am glad I came down here for if I didn't, I would have not tasted and satisfied my cravings for seafoods. I seldom find these foods in Fort Worth you know? Panda Buffet San Antonio branch has got all varieties of seafoods I never thought I can eat again. I was very happy upon seeing octopus, clams and fat crab on their buffet table nakssssss so delicious! This is something I look forward when visiting my FIL.

A Few Good Tips Continuation

As promised here is the continuation of some of the good tips you can apply in your household...

1. Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store.
If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.

2. Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil.
It will stay fresh much longer and not mold!

3. Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating.
Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking.

4.Add a teaspoon of water when frying ground beef.It will help pull the grease away from the meat while cooking.

5. To really make scrambled eggs or omelets rich add a couple of spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream in and then beat them up.

6.For a cool brownie treat, make brownies as directed. Melt Andes mints in double broiler and pour over warm brownies. Let set for a wonderful minty frosting.

7. Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a light tasteof garlic and at the end of the recipe if your want a stronger taste of garlic.

8. Leftover snickers bars from Halloween make a delicious dessert. Simply chop them up with the food chopper. Peel, core and slice a few apples. Place them in a baking dish and sprinkle the chopped candy bars over the apples. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes!!! Serve alone or with vanilla ice cream. Yummm!

9. Reheat Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a no stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to medium low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza.. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really works.

10. Easy Deviled Eggs
Put cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all broken up.Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg.Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.

11. Expanding Frosting
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar and calories per serving.

It's been quite a long time since I posted my last entry for Girls Talk. I am glad today I remember it and now sharing my fair share of today's topic, friends from school. A Few Good Tips

Here's the first batch of few good tips that you would like to know. I received this in my e-mail and I share it here so my readers can read it and apply it to their lives. There is no harm in trying these really good tips. Here is the half part of the good tips, will just post the rest later.

12.Reheating refrigerated bread
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.

13. Newspaper weeds away
Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you go cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers.

14. Broken Glass
Use a wet cotton ball or Q-tip to pick up the small shards of glass you can't see easily.

15. No More Mosquitoes
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away..
Squirrel Away!
To keep squirrels from eating your plants, sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.

16. Flexible vacuum
To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.

17. Reducing Static Cling
Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and ... Ta Da! ... static is gone.

18. Measuring Cups
Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill with hot water.Dump out the hot water, but don't dry cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

19. Foggy Windshield?
Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth!

20. Re-opening envelopes
If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Viola! It unseals easily.

21. Conditioner
Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair.

22.Good-bye Fruit Flies
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass, fill it 1/2' with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid; mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

23. Get Rid of Ants
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it 'home,' can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains, but it works and you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

24. INFO ABOUT CLOTHES DRYERS
The heating unit went out on my dryer! The gentleman that fixes things around the house for us told us that he wanted to show us something and he went over to the dryer and pulled out the lint filter. It was clean. (I always clean the lint from the filter after every load clothes.) He told us that he wanted to show us something; he took the filter over to the sink and ran hot water over it. The lint filter is made of a mesh material .. I'm sure you know what your dryer's lint filter looks like. Well ... the hot water just sat on top of the mesh! It didn't go through it at all! He told us that dryer sheets cause a film over that mesh that's what burns out the heating unit. You can't SEE the film, but it's there. It's what is in the dryer sheets to make your clothes soft and static free .... that nice fragrance too. You know how they can feel waxy when you take them out of the box ... well this stuff builds up on your clothes and on your lint screen. This is also what causes dryer units to potentially burn your house down with it! He said the best way to keep your dryer working for a very long time (and to keep your electric bill lower) is to take that filter out and wash it with hot soapy water and an old toothbrush (or other brush) at least every six months. He said that makes the life of the dryer at least twice as long! How about that!?! Learn something new every day! I certainly didn't know dryer sheets would do that. So, I thought I'd share!

Feeding The Birds

Pictures below are of my baby girl feeding the birds. It was her first experience to really get close to the birds and feed them. I was happy and excited seeing Jadyn having so much fun doing what she did. It was quite an experience for her, I bet. Several times before she would try to catch or touch a bird in our backyard but never successfully did that. Birds are too fast and fly away from her.

Huge E'phant

When Jadyn saw this at the zoo she identified it right away, hugeeeeee e'phant she said. Hahaha made me laugh really because of the adjective she used to describe the elephant. It is huge indeed! Clever girl.

She's The Reason

My baby girl is the reason why I celebrate tomorrow's occasion, Mother's Day and I am proud of that. Becoming a mom is easy but being a mom is difficult. You need to give your all for the sake of your child. Nothing is more fulfilling job in this world but being a mother, it is tiring sometimes but it's all worth my energy. Yes, taking care of a child requires a one full day of your time but it is all worth it. If there is one thing I can do and never get tired of it, that is watching my baby playing, being happy, being so bubbly and just being herself.

Ah what a joy especially when she calls me "Mommy!"

And here's a brief poem dedicated to all mothers out there!

A Mother...

When you're a child she walks before you,
To set an example.
When you're a teenager she walks behind you
To be there should you need her.
When you're an adult she walks beside you
So that as two friends you can enjoy life together..

Britney Spears' Original and Airbrushed Photos

I was a great fan of Britney Spears when I was a teenager. I loved all her songs, I knew her biographical information and I followed all her new photos. I was like all over Britney, I thought she was so perfect, with pretty face, sexy body, nice blond hair and a real good singer(rumors she did lip syncing in several performances she had). All those were in my innocent mind in my high school days.

And the time she made a huge change in her life, making provocative music videos, having kids and getting divorced has changed my perception towards this doll-like idol of mine. From then I stopped liking her. Today when I see her on t.v or in a magazine I do have the "I don't care of this girl anymore" attitude. You can't blame me though for she ruined her good image in the eyes of many.

Recently I found these photos on the internet of Britney that I thought you guys would be interested to see the original and retouched photos of hers.

........ by looking at the pictures, you can tell the big difference that an airbrush can do to one's pictures. After all...nobody's perfect... even celebs... if you look at the BEFORE photos, you'll see the imperfections are very obvious in her thighs and butt for example, flabby butt and thighs/legs full of cellulites... yikes..

Manhattan Lunch, I Wish!

Someone I know in Europe whose dream city or dream place to visit is New York City. Who doesn't dream of going there? I myself is dreaming of going there too, the Time Square especially for it is where big party events are being held, concerts, street parties are just few of the events shown on t.v being held in the streets of downtown New York. I thought, wow so pretty and lots of celebrities!

Well, my dream of visiting the state one day doesn't only includes attending big events but also to explore the whole city, seeing the whole China Town, exploring places where Filipinos usually hangout and most of all to experience the Manhattan Lunch at Rosie O'Grady's. A fine dining occasionally wouldn't hurt. It would be so cool when the whole family can finally be able to spend a vacation way up NY.

How about you? Do you ever wish of going to NY too? If so, are you looking forward to dining at a fine restaurant in between the Broadway and Sixth Avenue streets? I am referring to a place called Rosie O'Grady's you know?

Never Order Again

The worst online store I have encountered so far is the pillow pets store. I've ordered pillow pets last Wednesday and until now I don't know if it went through. There is just no email notification that my order has been processed or not. Unlike other stores I've shopped before, the moment I submitted my order a quick email notification will follow.

On Friday, I reordered the pillow pets I wanted, same thing happened no email. Then I called the customer service someone says that I should wait Monday for the items to be shipped and that is when the expected email comes for they only send it once they have shipped my pillows. It is past noon time and haven't received any.. pisses me off. I am like hanging in the dark trying to keep myself to be calm and wait that f****ing email to come. I may have to call them again later to cancel the second order that was made in Friday.
