Good English?

If you hear someone who is white and saying "you speak good english", would you be flattered? I must admit, my english isn't perfect, have some grammatical error sometimes and yes, english is very difficult language to speak especially if you are from a non-english speaking country like the Philippines (although English is our second language), still difficult to form a well constructed sentence but at least I am able to communicate, understand very well of the people that surround me here.

Yesterday we drove to Arlington for the hitch to be installed in our white car. While we were there, it took half an hour for the guy to install the hitch so we've waited at the small waiting room of the store where there was an American waiting for hers to be done too. Jadyn and I kept chasing after each other because she kept screwing up the things in there and the woman heard me talking to my baby. She then talked to my husband that happened sitting near her and said "she must have been here a while because she speak good english". I overheard her saying that and then I came to where my husband was sitting.

She asked me where I came from and proudly told her, I'm from the Philippines. Then the conversation went on. In my thought, hmmm I didn't know I speak good english and for that she made my day or I am good enough compared to other Mexicans around that don't speak even the very basic english? Lolz...
