At A Cafe

I am not used to using computers in an internet cafe anymore but it is better than not having an internet service at all. I got tons of online tasks waiting on me but I guess I am just gonna do all of them when I'm home in Texas because honestly I don't feel safe opening my accounts in public computers.  Aside from that, I feel so naked and always feeling like there are eyes watching me. The prize of not having an internet service at home.

Duhhh blahhhh I only got 2 more days left then I'll be back home in Texas. I missed my little Pearl and husband already. I am anxious to go back home and at the same time feeling sad for when I'm in Texas I'll be staying home most of the time again. Surely I'll be missing my days in the Philippines where I can just  freely go wherever I want and not needing anyone else to take me to where I wanna go.

Everybody Deserves A Nice Vacation

In America, people spend too much time mainly at work. If they could take a vacation it would only be 2 or 3 weeks vacation. Although they find themselves so stressed at work, some would refuse to take a vacation for the reason they have bills to pay or mortgage payments to meet every month. That is so sad. They ten to forget that they worked too hard and sometimes they forget to treat themselves a better, nice and relaxing vacation somewhere like the Outer Banks vacations. Everybody deserves a nice vacation, shall I say. So if one should think of a place to unwind and relax, Outer Banks of North Carolina is the perfect place to be. They have vacation rentals there that give a family that unforgettable moment with their family overlooking the long sandy white beaches.

Two Mary Annes

I am glad to know I am flying back home I made quite a few accomplishments in this trip of mine. I met a few selected friends here in the Philippines who I treasure so much. Two of the buddies closest to my hearts are the two Mary Annes I have known for a while. The first two photos are of me, Jadyn, little sister Alex, Mary Anne Thompson - author of Mary Anne's Musing. I met her last December of 2011. Sorry for the late posting about our eyeball because internet in Davao isn't accessible.

She is a fine woman who happened to be Jadyn's angel when we were there. She was patiently waiting at the doctor's clinic with us for the whole 2 freaking hours just to have my Jadyn checked by the doctor. I appreciate all the help and concern you've shown to my kid, babay!
........ SM Davao with the kiddos and of course friendship Mary Anne
........ the third photo is of me and Mary Anne and her son Matthew. She was my classmate in UHA Caregiver last 2005. There were times when we lost contact with each other but with social networking sites and the power of YAHOO MESSENGER we got our communication back. It was nice to see her again and her family after parting ways since we finished the course.
........ yours truly and the cute Australian kid and my baby girl, Jadyn....

Simple Life

Photos below are captured during our visit to my grandma's place in Barili last weekend. These are of my mother, cousin Itis and her son doing the pounding/grinding of banana to make "saging linusak", don't know the word in English. All I know is that the finish product will be a mixed of banana, young coconut flesh and brown sugar that makes it a delectable afternoon snack. Photos 1,2 and 3 show the processes of how we do it. First off, we boil the raw banana, peel off the skin when it's cooked, place in mortar and pestle-a huge one then slowly mix the ingredients together as you continue on pounding.

Doing this again after a couple of years I haven't visited my grandmother's place brings back old childhood memories. We used to do this a lot when I was seven years old. Rice or grits was a scarcity when I lived with my grandparents so we do the banana in replacement of rice just so we can fill our hungry stomach.

Fine Seafoods

I will never get tired of eating seafoods because for me they are the best. I am m beyond happy I am having my first trimester here in the Philippines where seafoods and other delicious delicacies are bountiful. How fortunate of me to be able to just go to the public market and buy anything I think of eating without hesitations. If I want something, I just hop in the cab and go. Aside from having my freedom back for a while, I also get to taste all the foods I cannot have back in the U.S.
......... my ever favorite fresh grilled squid...
...... lato as we call it...
..........grilled yellow fin......

........ and raw fish salad with all the needed spices to make it drooling.......

Bye Cebu, Hello Davao!

We are just waiting for the time to leave for Cagayan de Oro. We are leaving this afternoon at 5 to the pier where the Super Ferry is docked. This will takes us an overnight cruise to CDO then tomorrow morning we'll be riding in a painstaking 8 hours bus ride from CDO to Davao. All these I am willing to to go through just so I can be with my grandma, aunties/uncle and cousins once again. This is also for Jadyn so that she can meet the rest of her Filipino family before she goes back to the USA. Occasions like these seldom happen so I must savor each moment or each chance given to me to meet them all.

I am also looking forward meeting a few blogger friends that I've been in touched with for a few years to give justice to our friendship online. By then our virtual friendship becomes reality which is soooooooo cool to happen. I may not be able to get online as often as I can but I try my best to go to the cafe and update you guys with our vacation.

Noise And The Crowd

With all the noise and the crowd I saw in MEPZA 1 last night, it felt like there was a big event going on there. Thick number of people were walking on the streets, they looked too busy getting out/in of work. Vehicles bumper to bumper that just can't stop honking their horns. It seemed unreal to me.
It is because in America, very seldom you can see people walking along the streets. Their cars are quiet and drivers don't honk their horns unless they need to.
I know my country it has been like this since I was born but I find it strange nowadays. Not to mention, Filipinos aren't afraid crossing the streets with all these rushing vehicles. Instead they let the drivers stop for them.

Dating Reality Show

One of my favorite reality shows had its finale last Monday. Bachelors and Bachelorettes from the past seasons were there to win a freaking a quarter million dollars plus a chance of finding love. The winners of the Bachelor Pad reality show were Natalie and Dave. I bet they were so happy to split the money they've won. They have come a long way to earn their prize.

Before they were declared the couple winner, they were asked what they are going to do with the winning prize..I remember both of them to donate some to charity and they are not going to lie they will go for a vacation. I wish I'll know they take into consideration of looking at Outer Banks rentals for it is really nice over there. The superb accommodations are one of the reasons they should pick the place to stay for their vacation to enjoy the beach and other activities they want to do while in North Carolina.

Having Her Lola Around.. Make Things Easier

It's so different being with my own family especially I have a baby. I can truly compare the difference between living with just me, my husband and the baby. I, as a stay-at-home mom is so difficult having a baby around and no one will help me out.

Being here in Pinas with my siblings and parents around, everything is so easy when it comes to taking care of Jadyn. When I need something, I just point my finger to any of my younger siblings or call their name saying "day/dong palihug ko kuha ani, adto kato etc.." much more nindot is that mama is very abtik to assist me with Jadyn like for instance when she has overflowing poopy diaper, I just scream "Maaaa!! tabangi ko ni Deden nalibang puno kaayo!" then there she is, andam mo bubo sa tubig sa iya butt!

Those are just one of the many things that I'm gonna miss when the final day of my vacation here is over. Besides that, the yummlicious and deliciouso foods that only in the Philippines can make tilaw tilaw! Ay duh ambrot life is confusing.. when I'm here, I wanna go back to US and when my body is there, all I want is to just stay in Pinas.. whatever!

Three Different Lengths

Before I flew here in the Philippines I already told my husband that I'm gonna cut my long hair to real short cut because I am tired of picking up hairstrands everywhere. I will show some pics of my hair's three different lengths.

Three days after I arrived, I had my hair cut in slash style. I wasn't contented with it for it was still too hot and kinda long for me. I waited for few days and had it cut again which is my current hair style, the PINA KRIS AQUINO style kuno ingon nila. Look at the photos. Now I am happy of my new look!

....... my hair that I've been wearing for almost two years...
