Sleeping Naked

How could I be so bad towards my baby? Yesterday, the temperature warmed up to 64 degrees until dawn. I took my baby's sleeper off from her little body so she can be comfortable for she was pulling it. Time came for her to sleep and she was still naked. I didn't expect her to be sleeping through the night that is why I never had a chance to put her sleeper back on. If she only woke up at ten maybe or eleven, I could've dressed her up but she didn't.

So she slept the whole night naked! I feel so guilty about it. If it happened that the temperature cool down and I was sleeping deeply, my baby could have been shivering because I am too careless of her. Poor baby, nakalimtan intawn sa mommy nga danghag, clumsy...

Sharing the Food I Eat

One of the many foods my baby loves to eat is the bam-e or bihon. She would slurp it in her mouth when I give her a spoonful of noodles. That is good so I will not find it hard feeding her while we are in the Philippines.

She can eat almost everything so knowing the idea I am at peace and don't have to worry about her. I would want to introduce her the real fresh soup of clams and shells too because it is rich with nutrients that her little body needs in order to grow healthy.

Gaining Weight

Well, I notice that recent photos of my baby has gotten prettier. I mean the cheeks are now back to being prominent just like when she was few months younger. She always have pinkish chubby cheeks you know and it's gone when she started teething.

I didn't know it until I look at her photos and compared to the old shots. I am glad she gained weight because it makes her look cuter than to not have cheeks at all.

His Christmas Gift For Me

So thoughtful of him to give me a pair of blue topaz earrings to match with my necklace that has the same gemstone my husband gave me on our 4th wedding anniversary. I remember he said to me that I need earrings of the same kind so I can have a set. I never thought he would buy them for me really.


For days I was thinking that my husband is not gonna give me something for Christmas but to my surprise, he gave me those beautiful earrings. He really is full of surprises! Thanks a lot for the beautiful set lalabs! Man, you're the best!

I need one

Since we are going for a month long vacation in two weeks, I would have to secure another memory stick for my camera so I don't have to worry I run out of space if I decide to take tons of photos of my friends and most of all my family. I am so excited now and I better hurry to look for memory stick now.

I never learned to love cookies until I got here in America almost three years ago. I love chips ahoy that we can commonly see in the grocery store and also the one that my friend Rose bake at home. Her cookies are the best especially the sugar cookies because it taste really good.

Right now, I am having her cookies with hot choco drink and so as my baby enjoying chipping the cookie. It's all messy on the floor right now because she is also playing with it.

Come Home Full

...yes true. Everytime I visit my friend's place I will not come home empty stomach. She always have me share Rose's food and bonus she'll let me bring some of the food that we can't finish eating at her house.

That's what Filipinos do. When there's a feast, rest assured that you always have something to bring in your house. She had a whole family visited her today so were we and Annie. We cooked lots of yummy foods and eat to our stomach's content.

He Is Looking Good

It is nice to see my FIL once again. It's past 2 months already since I've last seen him and the last time I visited AFV he was so weak, in the wheelchair, so helpless and almost couldn't talk.

Now that we're back here to spend Christmas with him, I am grateful to see him with energy and able to talk, able to walk by himself(although he's having a hard time fixing his belt) but all in all he's pretty good today. Keep it up Popsy. Deden, we all love you!

Definitely Not A Coward

We just had our lights back on. We were in darkness for 2 hours for there's a short circuit happened and didn't know how to fix it myself. I've waited for my husband to arrive home from work so he can see which circuit it is need to be fixed.

Within the 2-hour time span with no lights at all, I didn't hear any complain from my baby. She was acting like nothing happened in her surrounding even all of the lights turned off, it didn't bother her. She was just very playful and I got tired so I put her to sleep.

She is definitely not a coward. She is not afraid of the dark which I'm so happy to know about. That's my baby!c Very good girl ug way libog! Lucky me as her mom.

Can't Wait To Go Home

I am so excited now that we are getting closer to flying back home. This time around will be different obviously because I have the greatest trophy with me to bring and show off her beauty to the people of Cebu.

My parents are as excited as me, I can tell that for certain. I am pretty sure they will be delighted hugging, touching or seeing their very first imported grandchild and welcome her with open arms.

I only got 2 and a half weeks then we'll be off to Cebu. It's gonna be a month long vacation for both of us before my husband will follow for our baby's Christening. I can't wait for the day!

The Whole Baranggay Is Crazy With Friendster

I have been adding profiles of people I know from the place I used to live. Almost all of my neighbors over there already joined and created a profile in Friendster. Even those that aren't working, mga tambay, small children and even my brothers!

This gives me a shock to know that my oldest brother who doesn't know how to use a computer is now having his friendster account also. The "used to be" small kids neighbors are now joining as well. I thought kaigat pud aning mga tawhana oi kay bisan mga way dada naha friendster2x naman pud sila.. just so unbelievable because I never joined friendster until the year of 2004 when I was in Davao. I was only 20 then and Sandy and I were still getting to know each other over the internet and on the phone. But those kids in our neighborhood, they touch the computer as early as 10 and up.

My cousin Dianne keep bugging me if I have a friendster account so she can add me to her list. I've only been a member of friendster for years. The current account I have is my second account already because I deleted my first and original account because of a jealous filipina who couldn't get a life of her own.

Whiny

I seldom hear my baby crying. When she does, it ruins my day. She is happy most of the time and play by herself alone. When it's time for her to take a nap, she wouldn't cry instead she wants to be on my lap and wouldn't come down. That is the only indication I have.

Right now while doing this post, she is in her crib crying. She is sleepy and for some reason she cannot sleep. Perhaps too tired to be closing her eyes and go to deep slumber eh? I DON'T KNOW. I am getting irritated here now... mind you better be careful I'm gonna explode pretty soon and screammmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

76 Degrees For Winter Season?

It's freaking me out! Knowing that the last three days we were shivering to death because of the freezing temperature we experienced. 2 days in 26 degrees in a row then yesterday in the 40's foggy, wet and dark. Today is the complete opposite of those days.

Can you imagine we reached 76 degrees temperature today? While we go shopping everyone else just wearing their summery clothes during Winter time? This is what I like about Texas because it is not of so much burden here when it's Winter. Temperature is really unpredictable. Weather is frickle and all we can do is endure this kind of temp. we have.

Cold Front In North Texas

The temperature is really making me crazy. Who would have thought that we can be as freaking cold as 26 degrees today? It was such a fine sunny and warm day yesterday. Instead I have to wear my jacket and socks also trying to be comfortable.

It's in the 20s and cloudy today that makes it really really cold for me. However, I am glad that this is just the coldest temperature we can get here in North Texas and lucky enough for it's not too cold compare to other states. What am I complaining about? Brrrrr whatever I am just very cold!!

Peacefully Sleeping In Daddy's Arms

Pictures below are of my husband and baby nicely captured moment of them. Lalabs' was just holding the baby so I can rest and later on Deden fell asleep in her dad's arms. So sweet of her. It was her first time sleeping in her dad's. I so treasure these photos because they are worth keeping for.

... isn't it sweet?... I love them so much, they are my life, my joy and my universe! I can't ask for more. I have a complete small family!

Not Looking Forward To It

Tomorrow's my appointment to the doctor to have my right ear checked. It will be at 9 in the morning which for us is too early. I don't like it when we need to get up in early the morning just because we have to attend the appointment, that only mean one thing to me, to rush and not be late.

I hope my hearing problem will be over after seeing the doctor because it is of big annoyance to me. Hearing different sharp sounds all the time, how annoying is that you think?

Ok, I have heard so much about Las Vegas. It's a place where people turn night into day and day into night. Have fun at night time, play casino, go clubbing and others. While during day time sleep in a vegas hotel to regain their strength and prepare for another long night of pleasure and excitement. Life of rich people!

Monday, The Earliest

I badly need to see a doctor and find out what is this in my right ear that's bothering me. I've suffered half deaf for a week now and can't seem to find a cure for this. Different noise I can hear from time to time and each time my husbands talks to me, I can't comprehend him so well as I am half deaf.

He'd gotten me an appointment to his doctor but it's gonna be on Monday. Still a long way to wait. Why is it so hard to get an early appointment while in fact I needed it right away? Unlike the Philippines, you can just be a "walk-in" patient then you will be entertained right away as long as you have the money.

I really am suffering right now and I guess there's no cure for my deafness but have my ear cleaned and take some antibiotics to kill the virus and end my suffering.

Breathing Through My Mouth

It was very cold when I woke up this morning of only 26 degrees Fahrenheit. The coldest temperature we have so far. I remember during my first year here in Texas, 28 F that time was already snowing and today it didn't. The sun is up but it is freezing cold.

Since I still have this freaking cold for 2 weeks now, I feel even more sicker this day because it is too cold for me to handle and can only breathe through my mouth right now. It sucks! Got this green snot and stuffy ear due to blowing my nose hard that pushes the pressure up to my right ear. I can't wait to go visit a doctor so I'll be over this calvary illness as I call it.

Caught In The Act

This is my little girl, Deden. Whenever she has the chance to get on to something to use as her leverage, she will do it, no matter how dangerous it is. She is not thinking that she can harm herself if she continues doing what she loves to do. But what can I do? She is just a growing baby and still have a lot of things to learn and explore in her surroundings.

Just Around The Corner

Oh well, Christmas is very very near. Clock is ticking tick...tock.. tick.. tock toe and soon enough it will be the 25th. Have you guys planned what to do on Christmas day? Surely, most of you out there are busy shopping for presents and busy planning for parties and games to do on that day, right?

As for us here, we are planning of spending it to my FIL who's ill and elderly in San Antonio. Rose, my friend is also planning of special Christmas dinner in downtown but she has no schedule yet when. We also planned on getting together on Christmas but duh I don't know how to make this come true as we do have conflict of schedule. Things will be ok I believe as we get closer to the day to celebrate!

I Wanna Go Home....

It's killing me! It's killing me! The homesickness I'm feeling right now sucks! I thought I'd overcome it all. I thought I taught myself already to not feeling homesick anymore.. but no.. nooooo I hate to admit it but I'm feeling so lonely and homesick right now. Thinking that Christmas is drawing near but I'm not looking forward to celebrating it. Yes, I have my family here but ohhh hohohoh still there is an emptiness inside me. I missed my immediate family.. my brother my sister... my parents.. old friends.. old places, the food.. everything! Pun-an pa jud sige lang ka bilanggo sa balay..

In the Philippines, we're poor.. yet we shared our silly jokes together and burst out to laugh, pabadlong sa mga ginikanan, sinungugay sa mga manghud, mag away sa suok, maglakaw lakaw sa dalan paabog.. magtambay sa kanto ug magcge bahak-hak bisan gakutoy ang tiyan.. all these.. all these is what I'm missing so bad

Unlike America.. we can afford everything our heart desires, computer/internet, cellphones, ipod ug uban pang mga "haytek" nga butang, clothes, shopping, shoes, bags all of the LUHO that we want... we have it.. but seems like it's not enough.. dili matupngan ka mingaw ug good times together during my days back in the Philippines.. grrrrrrrrrr kahilak tag bungog ani gibati ning panahonaaaaaaaa..

Thankfully She's Healed Now

This photo was captured when my baby was feeling ill days ago. It cuts my heart seeing her like that. She was in no mood for anything except wanted to be carried by me all the time. As you can see in the photo, she was looking so weak, red runny nose and seems like her head was so heavy kay nanampiling jud siya.

Thankfully, she is getting healed now. Although she still coughs sometimes but I think she's getting over it pretty soon. I stopped giving her cold medicine just this morning because it's too much I think and aside from that it's always a battle for both of us during medicine time for she doesn't wanna take it.

Everytime I go for a private or public room or whenever I'm in the airplane, the first time I need to look at is the exit sign. I will not take risk for who knows there might be an unexpected emergency and I don't know where to exit in case of fire or whatever it is that we don't expect to happen. Just taking precautions here you know.

What I Wish For Christmas

I'm a simple woman with simple wants and desires. I believe I have everything I need to live a decent life. But of course as a human being, there are other things that a woman like me wishes to have. It may be material things, money or something that is intangible.

Here are the things that I want to have this Christmas;
1. Good health, safety and most of all love and peace from our home and the rest of the world

2. A nice big house so we can have ample space to roam around especially the baby

3. A nice Coach/ Dooney and Bourke purse

4. Lots and lots of money so I can help my brother going to Canada and for my pocket money while on vacation

5. Going for a cruise

6. A barbie laptop for my baby
